Have Geelong ever missed out on a player they wanted? They were losing depth with Hawkins, Thouy, Rohan and others getting near 35 (Danger, Stanley, Duncan) but now they just add Smith and Oliver FFS.

Not sure they will end up getting Oliver.
The Smith trade would most likely take all of trade period it will be a stand off between Cats and Bulldogs

Thatâs fine, theyâre a terrific well run club. Challenge for Essendon is to become a terrific well run club. When we achieve that, we will get the players we want. Weâve shown we can secure the players we want as a crap club so thereâs hope in future.

The problem with that isâŚ.then Melbourne are stuck with an unhappy and unwanted Oliver for 6 more years at a mill per year.
Thatâs not a great outcome for Melbourne.
