It’s because his colleagues at the time noticed he was dying his hair because he got it wrong one time and instead of black it ended up deep purple…true story
Imagine being a strong club that had a good culture and gun players wanted to come to you!
Geelong don’t need to watch the NAB league or whatever it called.
That’s also because they’ve already hit it hard in previous years and have a lot of young talent already.

Looking for superstars and game changers in that list and I don’t see them. Some good players but everyone has them.
Max Holmes is better than just a good player. He’s a jet.
Ollie Dempsey just won the rising star.
Andy McGrath won a Rising Star and yes Holmes is very good but my point was that none seem to be headed for Danger, Selwood, Bartell etc greatness.
Exactly right.
Every team has good players.
The good teams have superstar top 50 in comp players.
Of that Geelong list only Holmes would be close to that category of player.
Dempsey did a Steven Bradbury style…
I know you’re obsessed with this but it’s really an inaccurate view… if you can get top talent to nom you then bye bye picks but not everyone is able to do that and low and behold the draft picks will be taken by someone… you’re on a one track mission and using confirmation bias all the way
it’s not just ‘experienced players’ with the cats when they eschew a pick it’s for farking guns (Danger, Cameron now Smith, Oliver)
Same way half our list is.
I watch all gws games, Connor stone is garbage. Seriously some of the players we’re looking at, it’s like we wanna be bog average.
We are aspiring to be bog average At this stage we haven’t recruited any of them so it may be all rumours. This trade period will determine the supporters view of Rosa and the new regime. He needs to make it a good one.
There seem to be very few trade targets available, especially ones we need. Hopefully Rosa works at improving our draft hand rather than recruiting plodders just for the sake of it.
This is Rosa’s first proper year without Dodoro lurking in the background and you’re saying that the fans will be deciding how good he is based on this. Well count me out of that…I won’t be judging him on this year alone as it will take him a few years to reshape/rebuild this mess of a list.
It will be an interesting indication of his strategy. Will he wheel and deal, be conservative and use picks as situated, hunt a range of free agents or anything in between.
It won’t be his list for a number of years yet.
I agree. Get a few highly valued young players in, incrementally change the list, progressively improve key areas.
Rosa - if you are reading this… wear three jackets to your first trade week appearance please.
Harley Reid to Geelong next year? Wouldn’t surprise me!
