I doubt that there is anyone on this forum who doesn’t understand how a negotiation works.
And if this is all part of a dance to get max value then, hey, kudos to the club because it has played it well.
The issue is that we have been in this situation before and the club always makes the stupid, self-interest driven short-sighted decision. And guys like Welsh and Vozzo and Brad will no doubt all be thinking about the security of their roles being under threat if they make the mature decision to trade Zach for a very handsome price.
So yes, we understand how negotiation works. But no, we do not trust Essendon to handle this capably.
But if they do, and somehow extract more than that offer, well then huge kudos and I will gladly admit I was wrong.

Drafting success can be down to how strong the draft is in the year you have good picks. Tigers were blessed but also recognized it was a strong draft and traded to get picks.

Yep. The good thing about FS and Academy players is it means there’s usually clubs selling first round picks for points to avoid them being swallowed in an early bid. We would have the Hawks 1st and second next year, along with our second to trade way earlier into the 1st round.

I remember spending the 2019 trade period hoping we were just trying to be strong negotiators on Daniher - Nope.
Then 2020 with Dunkley - No again.
Just have zero faith atm, but would absolutely love to be proven wrong.
