Trade talk - Tobe or not To Be

Oui.

If we want 2x Firsts for Zach from Hawthorn, I’d be asking for this years and 2028s 1st.

That 2028 pick would be a valuable pick in next years trade period, with the possibility of clubs happy to trade out given the cream of the crop will not be available.

If Sam Marshall got to Essendon?

wtf has he done to you :joy:

The structure of for how payment is calculated for each player, in each year, would be outlined, so the head office should be able to identify front and back ending and the value of those arrangements year on year, and it would include bonuses and match payments.

As I said, I don’t know, but if they have to provide head office with financial statements that would outline the total payments for the year prior, but the cumulative value of each contracts terms year on year would outline the breakdown of those payments, just not in a convenient manner.

We can’t win games of footy.

I was thinking Tassie. They’ve got stupid cap space, Future first round picks they have to trade for established players and they could add him knowing that he may see further disciplinary action from the AFL in a year where they’re not fielding an AFL side anyway. They could probably even build in a clause that allows them to dump him if the police investigation leads to charges against him.

His partner wants to move to QLD for Olympics preparation. Can’t imagine a Tassie/QLD relationship would be high on their agenda

They’re already doing separate states by choice and Blakey’s only developed a problem with that situation since his involvement at the Pullman.

Can’t imagine how his relationship would actually be going - any of them really

There is seperate states and then there is Tassie to QLD

Yeah I get that it’s extra flight time.

I just think Tassie have the assets to get a deal done that virtually no other club has at the moment.

For your current list, sure. But the reality is most of your current list won’t be contracted beyond 3 years so no contract will exist for the future period.

And for the FA you only have to match length and total commitment; how you spread it is your call. So virtually all clubs can match big FA contracts.

We will take pick 15 and move on.

Whatever we negotiate with Hawthorn for Merrett in terms of Picks, get them to throw in Scimshaw as a sweetener, particularly if we lose Ridley.

He’s out of favour so they wouldn’t see him as a loss.

Just turned 28.

■■■■■■■ Hawthorn have done it again. Timing their run to peak when there’s compromised drafts.
Top up with Merrett and King.
No doubt pick up more free agents in the next couple years.
It kills me

There is just no way this Cats/Port stuff can be allowed. All future trades between these 2 should be put on watch.

Just wait for the delistings and then the thread title will be clear.

When Blakey gets traded, does that trigger some sort of AFL compensation for Sydney?

Asking for a friend.

Are you thinking this year? Tassie can’t trade their picks / for players this year. If it’s next year, you’d assume the outcome of the investigation is clear and all clubs know where each of the players are at with charges.

I’d take Petracca’s contract if he came for no draft picks.

However chances are the Petracca Brand will be heading to Adelaide as they need another elite midfielder so it might be a good fit for both team and player.
