Mostly made as a new discussion in the vain hope that people then won’t get the rules wrong a thousand times while suggesting trades.
Summary:
Clubs can trade one year in the future only.
Clubs must make at least two first-round selections in each four-year period. If they don't, they will face restrictions from trading any further first-round draft picks.
If a club trades a future first-round selection, it may not trade any other future selection from that same draft. But if a club keeps its future first-round selection, it can trade any of its future selections from other rounds.
I’ll wait now for the first news of a team (probably Hawthorn) to exploit the rules and use it in a way it wasn’t brought in for and only get fixed after one team (again Hawthorn) gets away with it.

Interestingly says nothing about pick protection.
c’mon, give them a chance. they’ll just change the rules on the fly if there are any issues.
This could be good for us given we may pick 7+ players in the draft. Any clubs that only use 2-3 picks may be willing to trade 3rd, 4th and 5th round picks with us for a similar pick of ours in next years draft.
