He’s not getting Draper-sized (though I understand some people insist on defining a big-bodied midfielder via their height).
Not wanting to be a spoil sport or contradict but I’ve been to most sessions and haven’t seen it this way at all.
He hasn’t always trained and when he has it’s been almost exclusively in the modified group.
He has recently joined in some of the general drills but I can’t recall him being in any match sims.
I heard he has had some setbacks and they’re being cautious but I really have no idea how far off he is.
Everytime it looks like he will step up his training they seem to back him off again.
I’ve seen so little of him even in drills I couldn’t make any judgments one way or another about his capabilities at this stage.
The ones with the teeth marks are the hard centres.
LJ still couple months away
More focus on Ambrose, Stringer, Ridley, Heppell for me need them up and running.
All senior good players
Thanks @mattpocock18, I’ve seen a few comments about 2MP’s forward play this preseason, but what have you noticed in regards to his ruckwork. Was he competing with Phillips in the match sim, and if so how did he perform?

Imagine if he becomes the biggest big bodied mid to ever big body mid
Walks up to Cripps at the center bounce and says, Good Luck little fella!
I’m probably going to get flamed for saying this but, given Cox’s height, speed and athleticism, it just seems like that type of body type will be very injury prone. Hope i’m wrong and they keep him on the park.
Pack up your sht and get out!
I’m glad you asked that.
The most noticeable thing about Wrights ruck work is he hasn’t done much of it. He did a little bit yesterday, mainly around the ground against Philips, Philips beat him hands down. He probably needs to be more physical as a ruckman.
I’m surprised how little ruck work I’ve seen him do, given you’d think he’ll be expected to do a bit of it during the season. He might do a bit more in the lead up to the season, and you’d have to think they’ve done ruck craft sessions with him.
Excellent post.

Thats very interesting as I would have expected him to be the relief ruck.
Is anyone else eg Stewart doing any ruck work?
Didn’t someone mention earlier in pre-season that Jones has been doing some?
And I thought @THE_DON1 might have said that Jones did some pretty handy relief ruck work in juniors
Wright is a very non-physical player from what I’ve seen of him at GC. It’s why I have very tempered expectations of him.
It’s the skinny wiry types that seem to get injured less. Fletcher, Brent Harvey, Kade Simpson, etc.
Can any training watchers comment on Cox’s ability to find the footy and general footy smarts? Cutler is super athletic but he does not have those abilities. Would love if Cox could pick up his 18-22 touches per game on the wing.
After 20 pre-seasons, you’d hope to put on at least some muscle! Was still tiny compared to most midfielders throughout his career.
