Would you say they were worked noticeably harder than in prior years?
Among the zillion coaches, was there by any chance one who was actually teaching players the technique of kicking, and especially goal-kicking? I really can’t see the point of practising goal-kicking if what they’re practising is poor technique and missing the target.
just a left field thought… how would Jake Stringer go as Captain? it would make him ultra accountable and I reckon he would become more focussed on orhers
The fact the coaches had to strip it right back to teach the basic fundamentals speaks volumes in how the club didnt take football success seriously
Developing and achieving onfield succes was secondary for over a decade club was more intrested in being run like a comercial buisness instead of a footy club
I’m sure he would visit all clubs training. He’s very thorough in his level of detailed analysis and he exhibits a strong depth of understanding of each club which is symptomatic of his unique role and what he contributes as a footy analysts. Going to training at this time of year would provide King with great insight and would arm him with all the evidence he needs to talk about how clubs are preparing and tracking ahead of 2023. There’s no doubt he does his homework so he can speak with credibility and relevance.
Assume he’d be looking at key changes in Scott era, focus areas, player movers and shakers etc.
Re: Kingy - As well as doing it to be thorough in his job as an analyst, he also lives in the area too. Well not Tullamarine but around Essendon. So it’s convenient to go to our training as well.
