Training Tuesday 16/8/16

When the September deadline is up for them to return to the club I'm told that they will continue to train at St Bernard's and return to Tullamarine in October with the new draftees. I'm a little surprised by this but more than happy for them to work out what they want.

They clearly can’t get enough of the snakepit! Have been enjoying a few stories about more than the odd delinquent timing their being kicked out of the classroom so that they can get a sneak a look of the boys in action for a few minutes.

Your right Jackie but it may even be early November till they come back and re-join main group. Most fans I know want the club to host an open training session when players can visit and train mid Sept however the WADA rules are still in place which states the club cannot promote such type events. They are allowed to come back early only to transition to full time athletes again within the club premises. Frustrating for the club I have heard personally as they also can’t show any new vision or video of them.

There will be a HUGE training session I believe promoted November when the ban is released and the club will not be shy in getting all fans down and having a everyone back as one type feel training session. Membership I believe will kick start also much earlier this year and club is building to promote 2017 very early.

Club can’t show any new vision or video of the banned players until November?
How puerile these sanctions are.

Yeah did you notice earlier this year the opening 10 seconds of each bomber tv video that has a few ess players in it was changed. it used ton have heppell and a few others in it. This must have partly been a reason for it

I hadn’t noticed that but the club is still using images of the banned players during the pre game countdown at Etihad. Seems odd, unless it’s just new images that are prohibited, which would be even odder but not surprising.

I still miss Hird’s smile.

I miss his scent.

I miss his luscious hair.

Why did we ever give Kommer a contract extension. Seriously no idea what Hird saw in him.

Kommer had earnt an extension after his 2013 season, no doubt.

He averaged half a goal a game and under 12 possessions. It hardly screams 2 year extension with 1 year to go on an existing contract. To me that’s just pure list fuckery.

When you say returning in October with the new draftees, is that Parish, Francis, Morgan et al.? Or the NEW draftees? Isn't the draft in December?

I was told October but they may have go it wrong.

I believe what might be meant here is when the younger players return to training, as they typically return before the seniors.

I don’t think it’s to do with ‘next years’ draftees.

Under the bargaining agreement I think older (or maybe in the system longer) players get more weeks off than younger players.

Well, they are meant to be penalties.
