Training Wednesday 25th January 2023

Ridley today showed no signs of the dreaded dinky sideways kick. He would typically run it for a bit then go for a long pass down the ground. Making good use of his kicking ability was good to see.

Baldwin was often spotted around the wing taking marks but often in contested situations he would deliberately tap the ball down with two hands to a crumbing player calling for it.

The synergy between Stringer and Tippa is something we can look forward to. Both of them are starting to look fit enough and together they make some great plays.

Redman is in good form and defended well at full back for red. Hayes is also good down back, he’s very composed and doesn’t panic kick even with several opponents bearing down. He’ll squeeeze Stewart out of the team soon.

Could have had Oscar Adams instead of McDonut.

Until we actually start losing

How are they defending? Are we leaking any coast to coast goals.

If yes I’m concerned we’ve learnt nothing after last year.

If no I’m also concerned. Can’t score coast or coast goals against one of the easier teams from last year to exploit.

seems like David King was there again today, apparently reporting about it on SEN now going by their twitter

But before those games in the first week of March, most clubs have arranged a more informal hitout to build their preparations ahead of round one. These games are expected to be held on February 23 or 24.

Essendon, under new coach Brad Scott, is set to head north to play Gold Coast on the Suns’ training ground, across from Metricon Stadium outside the club headquarters.

Davey was already in my round 1 side before today.

Voss seems to have a bit of trouble actually kicking the ball between the big sticks. Baldwin’s not great at it either.

Hind was running laps. Minor quad, but kicking leg so just running for another couple of weeks at least to be sure before he is back with the main ground… Did 8km’s today and in good spirits. “better now than in 4 weeks time”

Baldwin was accurate at VFl level last year, not AFl though.

unless we have another highly skilled 170 ish cm player with blond hair making up the numbers it was Conforti…

Voss was very accurate in the VFL last year from memory?

Tom Hird was 49 last year but given playing at another club more than likely it would be conforti.

Is Conforti also going for the SSP spot??

Thats disturbing. Two meme players leading our forwardline.

Baldwin looked like he struggled to kick 40m last year in the afl, might have been confidence.

our talls situation is diabolical. cox, stewart, reid, 2MP, jones, weideman all new injuries this pre season. its a trend, not bad luck
