Cheers mate.

France and then Spain for us. Possible that UK gets tacked on. First time in Europe for me. Apparently the Frenchies will take my fingerprints . #Interpol

I’ve got dual passports and have been to France at least 30 times over the years and never had fingerprints taken.

I was curious to see how immigration at Rome went with the biometric system EU have/getting in place.

They weren’t doing it when I arrived. So no fingerprints taken.

I was checking online leading up to leaving and Italy were switching its use off and on depending on… whatever.

Country dependent it seems as they bed it down.

You need an ETA for UK

Daughter is using Simify now with success in UK & Europe including the Balkans (not all esims provide coverage in all countries fyi). We are using Simify in NZ and will use it in Turkiye in a couple of weeks. First time using an eSIM, happy with Simify who are Australian with good reviews for support.

Used Holafly in 2024 when I was in Europe - Berlin, Poland, Vienna, Budapest and had no dramas. Coverage was great.

they’re still smarting over the Battle of Hattin…

I’ve been using Holafly. Had no issues

That was Guy’s fault. Never listen to the Templar Grand Master. Nutters.

That’s always been my experience. And regional too. Beautiful system and fantastic trains..

Just realised one thing I didn’t consider are my transits in Heathrow and Singapore. Only have Italy coverage.

I get wifi in lounges, but if i need something doing beforehand then i guess I either go for public wifi or go analog and ask a human. I believe the latter are still a thing.

Yeah, we have a layover in Hong Kong but i wasn’t necessarily going to bother for the sake of a few hours.

I know for sure Singapore Changi has free wifi throughout the airport, so you should be good there.

I would think Heathrow should have something similar? Aceman will know.

cheers - i’m not worried about it. Just an “oh yeah” moment realising this eSim isn’t for my whole trip.

BA first lounge has good wifi. I assume others would too.

Qantas Heathrow lounge does too.

While sirport has free and decent wifi.
The wife uses it all the time.
The individual lounges can offer better wifi too.
I just have global roaming on everywhere so doesn’t really affect me much

I have travelled through Europe for months with people who have bought an e-sim. They have no end of trouble getting it to work, and it’s very expensive for what you get.

If you are only going for less than a month, you might be better in Australia just signing up to a cheap unlimited internet plan with a Vodafone, which works throughout Europe.
Just saying…

I think the one I got was BCENGI. Worked fine, no issues.

I just use my global roaming. $5 extra a day to access all my data. Only problem I has was this year on Naxos island. But in 1 certain spot only and even the wifi there was dodgy.
