Thanks. I wouldn’t be keen on being a pillion but interested in doing a trip like this, being guided and accommodation being sorted out and looks like that is an option with this company.
Thanks, some of their trips look pretty good.
I don’t know the CB500X but just looked and it weighs almost 200kg, so a CRF300 would be much more fun off road although that is still over 150kg. Small bikes are generally easier to ride off road, especially if you haven’t done to much dirt riding.
I can’t believe how porky some new bikes are. I have a few old bikes, like the original 1983 Yamaha 600 Tenere which weighs the same as that 300 and have a KTM950 that is lighter than the 500.
Landed just before 5am and already 32 degrees. Great flight, got around 5hrs sleep which is my normal sleep. Food was amazing as usual and had a few wines and spirits watching movies and Starlink worked most of the way so was able to stream the NHL and see the Caps start off well. Managed to get a jacuzzi booking after breakfast
You can just hire private guides. I might do that next time.
We had both. We used our Westpac travel wallet card which has done us well the last few trips with no dramas - most places accepted both, some just cash, also our ICOCA card was accepted in a lot of places
I’m here in Chicago for Marathon weekend. I can’t run a marathon because it’s really really long way but I can run the 5k
Here are some random photos
Are you going to get one of those beef rolls and a deep pan pizza?
That was my dinner last night ![]()
Where are all the people?
Living life in peace…
Spent the last week hiking on the Lycian Way in Turkiye. Pretty hot & rocky, punctuated with copulating Tortoises, Roman ruins, abandoned Greek villages, epic views & bee stings.
Although they spoke Greek, I think they considered themselves as Romans, ie descendants of the Eastern Roman Empire [which has since that time been termed Byzantium].
