Monkās Trail short hike.
Akha Ama for coffee.
Hummus restaurant if you want a change from Thai.
Cooking course.
New Melbourne Airport drop off is 1000% better.
Sure, you gotta walk a bit further, itās not ācurbsideā but the traffic just flows so much better.
One gripe. Itās ā ā ā ā ā ā ā down rain, but thereās a gap between the walkway and the first building you get to. Itās not much hold a gap, but itās just stupid
Except for the dills that stop in the middle of the road before deciding which lane to go in.
Hey anyone out there been to both Maccu Picchu and the GalƔpagos Islands?
Iām thinking of doing one over the other next year due to time constraints and would love some advice as to which one to pick.
Iāve heard independently people who have been to one or the other and loved it.
I went to both in ā98. Totally different experiences. Spent a month in Ecuador - there is more than just Galapagos. Same with Peru.
I got dropped off on the left hand lane. And had to wait 3 seperate sets of lights to get across them all. Who planned that?
Itās a disaster for anyone who canāt walk a km. Which is actually a few people.
The pickup is worse. So time consuming. Turn up when the person you are picking up is in the waiting area, message where you are, then wait for them to come to the bay. I domain that to someone who has never been to Melbourne before.
It all seems over complicated.
Yeah I have about 10 days and was hoping on a short tour of either Galapagos or Machu Picchu along with time spent elsewhere. Maybe Quito or Lima?
I go regularly to South America so donāt need to do a lot. Just enjoy one thing well.
We liked Quito back in '98. You can use it as a hub to do short trips to Cotopaxi, Cuenca, Devilās Nose etc.. Only had 1 night in Lima so canāt comment. Cusco & Sacred Valley are worth visiting of course.
Both are great options, but too different to compare. What time of year?
April next year
When I dropped a friend off a couple of weeks ago, I asked a traffic Marshall about picking someone up.
His reply was that the pickup area was messy, and instead just tell the person to be picked up to simply go to the same point where they were dropped off.
Would anyone recommend accommodation in London and Scotland? You know, mid range comfort, but not overly expensive?
Could look at Premier Inn chain. Utilitarian, no frills but can be OK price and in some great locations, e.g. London County Hall (next to London Eye), Borough Market.
Accor have a stack of properties in the UK and most are in that mid tier group. A stack of Mercures in particular.
We tend to book a lot of private B&Bās in regional UK though
