Yeah not fun.

ADL is absolutely fantastic for International arrivals. If coming back from Asia we have several decent options but Qatar is our most commonly used airline to get further abroad and it’s pure bliss arriving back into ADL. Straight off the plane, baggage is usually there within 5 minutes and customs/immigration is a breeze. Never more than 30 minutes to be landside and then we park pretty much right next to the terminal.

We live about an hour away from the airport and often well under 2hrs from landing to being home

Asiana airlines any good?

Yeah, international arrival into ADL is so much better since the new aiport completed all those years ago. Before that it wasn’t much fun.

We were at this Ukraine border crossing yesterday, just for a look.

Even though well away from the war zone in the south-west it was still quite surreal to see family groups, old women with shopping bags and guys on bikes coming and going as if nothing else is happening.

Thanks

Biggest problem with Garuda flights to/from Bali are the bogan Australian passengres

All the bogans come from Perth, or rather former Victorians who gave up their sacred birthright to live in Perth.

thank you for the tips about Holmenkollen!

Sydney’s good. Cops a bad rap Kingsford smith but really when you touch down it’s so easy to pick up your stuff, exit through customs and get out to grab a ride home.

And the new M8 road makes traffic brilliant. I’m home half way across the city in 15-20min.

Ok. So I’ve been cruise curious for a while but all the articles I read online are by travel writers getting a free trip. And they make it sound good.

For anyone who’s been to say a trip to the pacific as a first time cruise ship person.

Was it good?

My perception of it is it’s like living in an RSL for two weeks, spending on overpriced drinks and sitting in over crowded pools. Is that the reality?

In other words hell.

I’m guessing you would want to spend up on a cabin with a decent private balcony for some quiet time.

And do any cruises exist not targeted at families with young kids?

In Jakarta currently and the Raffles is our go to here. They always treat us amazingly and normally get upgraded to a suite but this time they put us in their top suite that is going for $5k a night.

Well I’m in Jindabyne tonight and I got upgraded as well.

So instead of lugging my stuff up just one flight of stairs, I got to lug them up three.

So much winning

My youngest brother has lived at Jindy for about 10 years. Nice place to visit but I’m not sure I’d want to live there. He loves it though

After four months of wearing shorts and t-shirts, it was a bit of shock getting here today and finding the temp was 13 and going down to -1 tonight
