I watched The Newsreader the other day, really enjoyed it, looking forward to the next episode.
Can someone that is knowledgeable on Jack Irish please help me out. I have watched seasons 1 and 2 and started to watch season 3 and the timeline doesn’t match up as it seems to have skipped pretty far in the future. I know there are some specials with 2 movies as well as the movie dead point. Just wondering what order I should watch them. Do I finish season 3 and then watch the movies last or the other way around. Cheers in advance.
Thanks @BLOODSTAINED_DEVILS . Now I can go back and watch from start to finish. Not much else to do these days. Cheers mate
If you enjoy a good Mossad-CIA dramarama try Hit And Run on Netflix. 9 episodes. Set in Tel Aviv and NYC. A violent, clever and largely well done series.
Yeah, onto it. Is good.
Also looking forward to Vigil in a week or so.
Judging by his busted nose, it looks like Nicholas forgot to duck during one of his ‘Nicholas Benders’
Would be interesting to see if his twin brother looks as broken nowadays.
Oh, Anya, you saucy wench.
Finished (or got tired of) a couple of series, so I’ve picked up a few new ones.
SBS - La Garçonne - End of WW1 in Paris, the twin offspring of a murdered policeman have survived the war, but he is in a bad way mentally and won’t take up his offer to join the police. His sister lost her job because of a returning soldier coming back to his job, and well, he’s a man and it’s not women’s work, so she disguises herself and joins the police in his name.
Netflix - The War Next Door (Los Vecinos en Guerra) - a bogan Mexican family win a raffle for a fancy new house next door to a snobbish family. Seen a couple. It’s light, but don’t know if I’d recommend it. I’ll probably keep going.
Netflix - The Neighbour (El Vecino) - Javier (Quim Gutiérrez) is struggling financially and has just separated from Lola (Clara Lago). He’s visited by a dying alien who gives him his super powers medallion. It’s based on a Spanish comic. I’d seen both stars in comedies (he in Three Many Weddings with Inma Cuesta, and she in The Spanish Affair (1 and 2)). But one thing i noticed was the supplementary male star, Adrián Pino, playing José Ramón, is a doppleganger for our own @scotty21, except that this guy has a neat beard and neat hair.
And I thought
AL EJERCITO DE LOS TIGRES NO GUSTARÁN ESTO UNO POQUITO, DARCE
Quite amusing…and Quim is not a rude word, it’s a diminutive of Joaquín, like Lola is a diminutive of Dolores.
seriously folks, i cannot stress this enough. it may end up being funniest season of any show ever made.
you can watch it on youtube (search for ozmartian, they have all eps on a playlist)
I watched Clickbait on Netflix over the weekend. Not too bad. Worth a watch as it’s only 8 episodes.
The White Lotus is very good!
Watching The Chair.
Not great but enjoyable and gets better with each episode.
Short 30 min episodes too - so great for just before bed.
Gripping Nordic Noir series I can recommend about power and politics: Witch Hunt on sbsod
So do we start with NZ season 1? You have me…how do i best watch this?
We’ve been watching Queen Of The South.
What a steaming pile of garbage.
you don’t have to, each season stands alone with a new set of comedians. season 1 was pretty good but 2 has been incredible.
as i said youtube is the go because as far as i know it’s not on any streaming services here (uk version is on sbs on demand)
I agree. But if you just fast forward to the scenes with James in them it’s great!
