WOWEE STRANGER THINGS SEASON 4 PART DEUX

Now that’s riveting television, HOW ON EARTH CAN WE WAIT OVER A YEAR FOR SEASON 5 WITH AN ENDING LIKE THAT

Stranger Things has to be up there as one of the greatest TV shows of all time now, it just sits so far above The Walking Dead and all other SCI-FI / horror thrillers. Just great story telling, acting and production values, you ■■■■■■■ fall in love with so many of the characters. Iconic television.

Welp, seems like I spoke too soon. I haven’t watched it yet but a two and a half hour TV episode must be some sort of sick joke. Netflix pls.

I actually kind of like that they are playing around with the episode lengths.

Stranger Things is a show that gets consumed fast. Back-to-back episodes in as short a span of time as possible. It all blurs into one anyway.

How long each individual episode is, is kind of irrelevant I feel.

But the way they are going, next season could be just 2 x five hour episodes.

The two episodes felt drawn out at times and the heart-to-heart conversations were cliched, but still great episodes. Epic Eleven is back!

I’m curious to know what she did to bring Max back, looks like it will be revealed next season.

At first I thought she had created an alternate reality/time bubble in the Upside Down to keep Max alive as a memory.

But now I reckon she put Vecna in Max as a way to keep her alive. And he needs to heal up in the meantime.

Six seasons and a movie four seasons and two movies?

To be honest I just want to sit down for an hour before bed and watch something good with a beginning, middle and end… maybe Netflix shows aren’t for me.

Oh and Only Murders in the Building is back. Based on episode 1 they really really want the audience to know that they are in on the joke that a follow up that’s as good as the first season is almost impossible. So far so good though.

To be fair, I haven’t watched the 2 1/2 hour finale yet, only done that first new one.

I might change my mind after that.

It’s good.

Does anyone think the stuff about double VHS tapes (Dr Zhivago) was a joke about the length of the last episode?
I reckon it was. I can’t imagine any other reason to have put that bit in.

fair point. the netflix data nerds would have told them that some high percentage of viewers watch the whole season in 1-3 sittings so may as well write around that

-edit- just finished s4 tonight. bloody hell

Binged Mr Inbetween. Great Aussie show and I don’t normally like Aussie shows. Much better than Barry which I also loved.

Next instalment of Mystery Road started on ABC last Sun. Goes back to 1999 with Jay Swan, a newly minted detective in his 20’s, returning to his hometown. So essentially a prequel to all the previous movies/series. Given the overall excellence of this franchise bound to be worth a look.

All 6 eps available on iView for those of us who prefer to binge a few at a time :+1: Wish Auntie did this more consistently.

Up to episode 4.

It’s kind of losing its shine a little. Bridges is still epic, Lithgow is very good at portraying a conflicted and compromised mind. But the dialogue… Ugh. Too much of it and not a lot of it valuable.

I don’t mind wordy, but make them count.

Spot on. I was hooked after 2 episodes then it started getting a little over the top.
The flashbacks have me very intrigued

Yeah, it almost ruined it for me. I mean, the story was great, but did every single member of an ensemble cast need a D&M during a finale?

The last episode could have been cut down to 1 hour 45, and all we’d have lost was ‘feelings.’

Up to the last episode of Foundation.

I’m confused, not by the storyline but by the fact it bears no resemblance to any of the foundation trilogy by Asimov. Either I’ve missed a book, my brain is finally succumbing to years of abuse, or this is some kind of prequel?

I forgot that it was on Sunday.

Will definitely watch on iview.
