I’m loving Arcane at the moment. Probably a lot of people getting put off trying it because it being a) animated and b) a video game adaptation (veeery loosely), but this is just some excellent tv.

Was scrolling through Netflix looking for something to watch with Mrs Wim last night and came across the short Korean series, The 8 Show.

I really wasn’t expecting much, but five out eight episodes in, it’s Very good.

I don’t want to give too much away but I guess to describe it I’d say it has Squid Game vibes, but it’s a lot deeper and smarter.

Edit: in fact I’d say it’s a Lot better than the second (half) season of Squid Game.

For me season 2 is still my favourite

Earlier I was watching 24 redemption. Was a TV movie with jack Bauer set between season 6 and 7

If you haven’t seen it, I would recommend it

Protection on Stan. English police show centering around a witness protection team.
Watched four of the six episodes so far, and it’s very good.

Emperor of Ocean Park. 10-part US series on Showcase.

A high-profile judge is found dead. Was it a heart attack or foul play? Were murky events from his past somehow involved?

Patience is required with this one as the story unfolds quite slowly in multiple timelines. It’s not even clear what is actually going on until later in the second half. Whether the final outcome is worth the journey is an open question.

The last episode of Severance was all sorts of awesome. This show is phenomenal.

Only thing that will get me through the AFL season is repeats of this show.
