TV show thread (2022-?)

S2 starts soon on Apple TV I gather. Set in Berlin, this time it’s an underground train scenario. I assume Elba reprises the same character.

Thanks.

Don’t currently have a Prime subscription so may have to wait for FTA. Don’t recall where I saw the original. BBC First perhaps. I know SBS has broadcast it several times.

Mrs Wim’s 2025 in review.

I am late to the party but just got through Season 2 of Rogue Heroes. I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as S1, but it was, and in some ways it was much better. While the manic bravado was still there, there was a growing sense of maturity throughout the characters. Then in episode 4 the whole narrative pivots, from being the Paddy Mayne show, and swivels attention to a hitherto minor character, Sgt. Reg Seekings and how he is faring, which is not too well at that stage. Things go from bad to worse from him with collateral casualties during an attack, leading to a searching examination of his character. The entire episode is one of the best portrayals of PTSD put on video/film. I look forward to a final season.

Shoresy has returned for season five (I think, maybe four).

HUH?

Annual reminder for anybody that hasn’t seen Letterkenny or Shoresy that you are doing yourself a disservice and you need to find it ASAP.

I think people will like this. Is it a tv show, I guess.

I’ll check it out. :+1:

I watched The Night Manager S1 for the first time last week and just watched the first two episodes of season 2 last night. Season 2 seems pretty good but it’s missing the magic of season 1 (so far). Maybe it’s the lack of Hugh Laurie and Olivia Colman.

Thanks for the recommendation, enjoying it so far, up to episode 4.

I had no clue who he was and still don’t really understand his fame lol.
But I thought it was a cool indie/skate/fashion/comedy. I don’t really know how to explain the show.

Never had heard of him before either.

You’ll get a bunch of people lasting 5 minutes and not getting it, saying its boring crap. But for those that don’t required instant gratification, cheap punchlines and something loud enough to just hear over their phones while on X, you can really get into this one.

Not sure what I can compare it to, maybe a low budget “episodes”.

Yeh it made me think of Louie. I think I saw a YouTube comment stating it’s skating meets curb. There’s no belly laughs but there is humour.

Good call on Louie, also got a “Limmy’s Show” feel to it.

It gets better (S2.E4 dropped today), and your wishes will come true. Love it. .. unfortunately have to wait for the next fortnight for the remaining two episodes

Love it, new high standard for game adaptation, sci fi and current tv in general. Westworld declined pretty badly story wise but Nolan/Joy definitely get what makes these concepts attractive and use their massive budgets really well.

Speaking of scifi, thought I’d rewatch 3 Body Problem. I remember quite liking it but really enjoying it second time around, believe they’ve been making 2 seasons back to back to start this year.
