Watching my younger cousin while my aunt and uncle are out and I cannot believe the rubbish that is on… most are all american and brain numbingly boring. was it that bad when we were younger? Where are all the aussie tv shows?

Ship to shore. Had an awesome intro jingle that is easy to whistle, the crazy adventures of Calvin and my favourite antagonist in Aussie kids TV history, Hermes Endarkis.

Spellbinder was also a ripper.

ABC3 still do lots of live action kids serials.

My kid's grown out of them, but there was a stupid Mermaid one.  Mortified.  One where they were Ship-wrecked on an island.

There was Prank Patrol.  Scorpion Island. 

 

I used to like Home as a live serial as a teen/tween.  Friggin' LOVED Sweet and Sour.

 

Edit:  Oh, and when I was much younger, mid-late seventies, there was a commercial network kids serial about a brother and sister whose parents died who ran off to live in a cave because they thought Community Services would separate them.

Probably lame as, but liked it as a kid.
