I know America has some issues, but wanting the executive branch to investigate and prosecute it’s political rivals is tin pot dictator behaviour. Attorney Generals and Investigative bodies are independent for a reason.
Since the tweet was poorly written: an amendment was proposed that all kids, not just transgender kids, be banned from breast implants (and reductions?), and that was what was voted down.
So it’s fine for girls to get breast implants for the Prom, but not wannabe girls. Selective affirmation.
As a bonus which makes it all the more clear, the legislation also proposes to legalise affirmation surgery to take someone from intersex to [insert your binary choice]. But not necessarily your binary choice
There was more than sufficient evidence to open an investigation. So no, it’s not an abuse of power. Turning the other cheek on this and Trump is an abuse of the powerful; let’s not prosecute the powerful/rich class and just waive their transgressions off while coming down hard on misdemeanors by the poor.
I’m more than happy for the Dem SC member who had allegations against him quashed by Biden to be investigated too.
If there’s enough evidence then the relevant authority should look at it(sexual assault would be a local/state police issue). Biden should not be involved.
On the upside, McCarthy has ■■■■■■ off his own team about as much as this will annoy the Democrats. The Dems knew whoever was running the committees would obstruct anyway.
