That’s what people said in 2016. It’s now 8 years later, those people vote now.

IMHO celebs have every bit as much right to rabbit on about their political opinions as anyone. I mean, nobody in here tells me to butt out of politics because I’m an IT guy, a job is just a job.

I can’t really believe that all that many people would be guided about who to vote for my the opinions of a celeb though. I mean, l love Fletch but the man is a bit of a rightwing fruitloop these days, I ain’t taking political advice from him.

pundits everywhere seriously underestimate how low information most voters are

the number of people who pay zero attention to politics but some attention to what ms swift says/does would not be insignificant

Doesn’t make sense. Channel 7 are as anti Trump as it gets when you watch their nightly news. Why would the audience suddenly become 95% pro Trump from a YouTube stream? I’d have thought I was watching a version of it on Sky News

My daughter and several of her friends are fans of Taylor Swift…they are neither weird nor toxic…and they are old enough to vote.

I would expect that there are a hell of lot of people just like them in America who are old enough to vote…

Channel 7 audiences watch the tv or follow the channel 7 app.
YouTube audiences can easily get caught up in an algorithm and bounce around multiple Trump topical posts with an emotionally charged thumbnail and clevery words in the title.

I watched bits of the debate on YouTube. But comments were turned up. I’m assuming that’s the norm for US channels (MSNBC, etc).

Thing is, she did not make a mistake. That alone is a win
But Trump was just the same Trump stuck record.
She had vitality, energy and showed the disdain for Trump when deserved it.

She was light years ahead of Biden.

And Trump - all debate it was about how everything he did was the greatest ever while everything anyone else did was the worst that had ever been done.
