US politics - The ICE epidemic (part 10)

I don’t think he’s the kind to relinquish the spotlight.

No denying that is the thing that he loves most about the job is the spotlight and grift, but you have seen him walk out of interviews when he gets questions that he doesn’t like. What is it going to be like if Congress starts to get some committees looking into some of his more questionable decisions and if Volume 2 of Jack Smith’s investigation gets released.

Trump is more likely to declare himself President for life.

Does anyone seriously think he will say farewell at the end of his term and say “It’s been a honour to serve, and goodbye and God bless America”.

Even money he carks it before his term is up. He’s not a well man.

He’s literally been named and/or charged in credible allegations of about 9,000,000,000 different crimes; up to and including raping children.

Do you think the 9,000,000,001st one will do the trick?

He’ll lash out but not leave.

He’s never going to have more protection than while he’s in office.

Being re-elected got rid of most his existing legal troubles.

And these aren’t even the reasons he won’t leave. I just don’t think psychologically he’s capable of it. We see every day how desperately needy he is.

There’s a fear that if he did cark it before his term was out, the MAGA and Project 2025 crowd would run some BS that he was poisoned, claim a conspiracy, cancel elections and use Vance as a puppet dictator.

Do you put it beyond P25 to do that job themselves?

It is going to be really interesting to see how history writes this chapter. Assuming humanity lasts long enough for it to matter.

It is a pity that Bernie was too old to be elected in 2016. What a difference to the world if he had been elected then.
