People said this back when we were 5M. Now with more than 26M they are still saying it. So much for the Great Ponzi scheme.
We are even less independent than we were back then.

Blamey was also a huge Rsole.
The tradition continued into Vietnam, where the Septics iwith their loud trannies were no better.
Trump is cracking down on trannies.
I read a book by vietnam war journist Neil Davis who wrote about such things. The Viet Kong could even smell their cigarettes and pizza’s.
They could smell from their body odour that they had a meat-rich diet. So the story goes that many US soldiers adopted a vegetarian diet while serving there.
Read Gravitys Rainbow before they burn it, probably because it has the word rainbow in it, not because of the content hilariously. But also just read it. There’s a reason why they go for education and artists and thinkers hard. There’s a reason why our own conservative governments have gone hard on killing anything but service level research in our universities.
Former Vikings Chris Kluwe arrested after calling MAGA a ‘Nazi movement’ at city council protest

Former Vikings punter Chris Kluwe called MAGA a “Nazi movement” during a protest that led to his arrest on Feb. 18, after he walked toward the city council bench in Huntington Beach, Calif.
The incident occurred at a city council meeting, where Kluwe was protesting the city’s approval of a public library plaque that was designed to use words to spell out “MAGA,” the acronym for President Donald Trump’s slogan “Make America Great Again,” as an acrostic.
Video from the council meeting shows the former Minnesota Vikings player reading a prepared statement where he called MAGA “explicitly a Nazi movement.” Kluwe continued to say that he would engage in “peaceful civil disobedience,” before he left the lectern and walked toward the city’s council members.
Police are seen rushing in Kluwe’s direction, as shouting and cheers can be heard from the gallery. The meeting was then put into recess for a number of minutes.
The city’s arrest log said Kluwe was arrested on a charge of disturbing an assembly.
Kluwe told the Orange County Register that he spent four hours in custody before his release.
Kluwe has always been a real one.
FFS !
Hiroshima bomb : 6 August 1945;
Nagasaki bomb : 9 August 1945.
So the Septics gave the Japanese just three days to surrender…
They didn’t have video conferencing in those days. Three days was a ridiculously short period for the Japanese politico-military elite to come together and discuss a surrender.
The Septics couldn’t wait to let off another nukilar firecracker on a civilian target - they had the same mentality then with Macarthur as they have now with Dump. Disgusting !

FFS! If they are going full MAGA already in LA, wtf will happen in the redneck states?

I tend to agree with a lot of view points you put forward across the forum but on this one…we’re clearly miles apart.
There’s no need to respond…I feel that I have a pretty good handle on how you feel and there’s no middle ground for us on this one.
And that’s ok.
I look forward to discussing other topics with you as time goes by.
FWIW
My understanding is it went something like this:
practice/warning bomb wasn’t a real option as they only had 2 working bombs at that time. Didn’t want to risk wasting one if the Japanese high command ignored the demonstration. If the Japanese had called the US “bluff” after the “demonstration” that would have left them with only one functional and ready to deploy weapon. The US wanted everyone to think they had a larger supply, as a deterrent/threat.
Hiroshima was a defensible action, ( though at an horrific cost) to try to end the war in one fell swoop. The invasion plans for the Japanese mainland were in place, but the calculations were for massive loss of life on both sides,
( influenced by the extreme committed defensive actions of the Japanese soldiers on Iwo Jima and Okinawa, and the rise of the Kamikaze.), and the destruction of a large part of the country.
It could be argued that Nagasaki was a shot across the bows of the Russians, who had just declared was on Japan, and were beginning to advance on the northern flanks. So it was more than likely a political rather than strategic action- a “flex” if you like. So was it necessary? Maybe not.
One last thing from me.
The 2nd bomb was supposed to be dropped on Kokura where the Japanese operated one of their biggest ordnance factories, manufacturing among other things chemical weapons.
When the bomber carrying the 2nd bomb arrived over Kokura, visibility was poor due to clouds and smoke from other bombing raids.

Now that’s a bit of raw graffiti to admire.
I’m trying to decide if stencil art is the way to go these days. I like this recent French piece to help inspire and start me off…
You’re out of your mind. Like most left wing nuts in here.
Look at the casually estimates of an invasion for both sides. Or even the casualty figures with the fire bombing that was going on.
Then factor in what they could’ve been had Russia gotten further into Manchuria…
As for the elbow lickers saying “there weren’t video conferences”…. There was such a thing as radio. You know, the same form of communication the unconditional surrender demand was issued from Japans ambassadors back to Tokyo…
Theres also not much to negotiate an unconditional surrender so all they needed was an announcement.
Valuable, learnings
