US politics - the new orange wave (Part 7)

Nah. Even after Nagasaki, Amani and others STILL wanted a martyrs destruction of the Japanese nation rather than any sense of accountable surrender. I can’t recall who, but someone in the upper Japanese command actually declared that the two bombs were a good thing because they could then save some face by saying that it was external factors that decided the matter and not internal Japanese failings.

Even so, they weren’t that far off copping a third bomb , which was due to come online a week later and Japanese command was still prevaricating about coups , nihilistic martyrdom and various bullshit. Truman was resigned to it by that stage, despite not wanting to use it.

Never presume that insanity is predictable. The Japanese culture brought success, and disaster, upon themselves.

In any case, none of this is analogous to current US politics, unless perhaps we are suggesting that the US in 1944 should have suddenly sided with Japan and agreed to split the natural resources of conquered territories…

Having been to both nuclear bombed cities, i just hope we’ve learned enough to know that war is bad and talking should always be the solution. I was proud as an Australian to see how involved we were in leading the argument for nuclear disarmament.

Does he ( Trump) realize that the major winner was the party who’s last Chancellor was Angela Merkel, rather than Alice Weidel ?

No he doesn’t

You can still get flu vaccine, just they wont be spending money advertising people to go get it via the wild to mild flu campaign.

Side note: On a Rogan episode with Woody Harrelson, Rogan said that RKF thought that his voice change was a side effect of cumulative flu vaccines.

lol

Wow, break down that curtain

Right wing talkback radio host and podcaster Dan Bongino nominated as deputy FBI head, a job for which he has basically no qualifications whatsoever.

Possibly the worst meritocracy ever.

How far are we from a Presidential Influencer?

Aren’t we already there?

Getting rid of DEI seems to be just firing all the blacks and the women and replacing them with mediocre white men who host talk shows and podcasts.

So we currently have -

Russian sympathiser and friend of Assad as Intelligence Chief, with a memory so poor that she can’t recall if Russia paid for her trips.

An Anti vax , self declared brain damaged nutjob running health.

We very nearly had a suspected paid-for-underaged-sex paedo running the justice department. Instead we’ve settled for a paid Qatari lobbyist who bailed out of investigating Trump University after a mysterious, illegal “donation” from the Trump Foundation.

Defence is being run by a low ranking army officer who happened to be a Fox News host and has multiple allegations of sexual abuse, alcohol abuse and misuse of charity funds against him.

The FBI is now run by an entirely politicized figure who has previously vowed retribution for anyone that investigated Trump for breaking laws that he really did break.

And his deputy is now revealed as a podcast host.

Meanwhile, those in charge of the whole thing are undermining the constitution, the law of the nation, circumventing Congress, making mass sackings based on software analysis, waging a metaphorical war on their own citizens based on sexual identity, proposing the mass, forced deportation of a foreign population and seizure of a foreign land, threatening neighbours and allies with subjugation , encouraging votes for a foreign neo Nazi political party, had Russian interference to help get elected, handing over parts of Ukraine to an invading force led by a straight up dictator, suddenly looking to do business with said invader for arctic circle resources, and saving South African white farmers…

And this mob and supporters claim DEI encourages unqualified appointments …

They’re all perfectly qualified under accelerationist beliefs - couldn’t be more qualified.

Musk … glandular secretions from animals… No wonder Trump is so far up his ar$e

Very difficult to have an intelligent conversation with leaders, and I use the term very loosely, who have no desire for a humanitarian and economically sound solution. There’s a lot of grandstanding and nest feathering going on which is spiraling world stability downwards at a scary rate.

The world is in dire need of diplomacy and true leadership more than ever yet there is little on display. Strengthening of alliances amongst countries other than the US will help, but there’s a lot of ground to be regained before steps forward can be taken.
