Vale Mickey Rooney

News just coming out that Mickey Rooney, who started as a fine child actor and grew to be an icon in cinema has passed away today.

:(

Has anyone told Andy Hardy? Old childhood favourite gone. RIP

I don't think it was a surprise. 154 picks on The Doug Stanhope Celebrity Death Pool.

Appalling racist.

Loved him as Fall out boy.

I was never really a fan. When he was young he was the quintessential showbiz professional, and the parts he played were always the all-American straight-up guy. Not my cup of tea.

He’s been around forever and appeared in 338 films. He was MGM’s biggest star in the 1930s when he was still in his teens. He never grew beyond 5’2", but he managed to have affairs with and/or marry many very beautiful women.

He seems not to have had a very peaceful life, but I hope he rests in peace.

RIP

Thought it was Mickey Rourke, was surprised (but not that surprised) he was 93.

I have no idea who this person is. None whatsoever.

+1

"Person dies of old age... hadn't worked in 30 years..."

Last appearance in public was last Sunday at the races wick ■■■■ Van Patten. Enjoyed life right to the end by the sounds of it.

A bit like yourself Eh HAP. Actually on Broadway 2003 and last movie 2008. A product of his time.

Not a Hardy....Andy Hardy. Boy's Town, National Velvet....but really he was from Shirley Temple's vintage, and like her, did nothing big after adulthood.

He had me convinced he really was Chinese in Breakfast at Tiffs.
