Normally the VFL side has a strong 3 tall defence with Lav, Hayes and Hoare. None are playing today, however. Not sure who that would leave as tall defenders.

If he’s locked in for an AFL debut, minimise any risk of prior injury. Would suck both for he and the team to cop a head knock and miss a chance to play seniors next week.
Hayes cotton wool? Sounds like they are going to baby proof his house to make sure he doesn’t go down with an injury.
He could have done with another run, but I guess the logic was the same for Tsatas.
