Will try and watch it on TV.
Interested how Gleeson goes.

Likewise, think I’ll tune in just to see where he’s at, love to see him back in the 1s and maybe just a good performance here from making that happen.

VFL squad selection: Round 12

Young athletic midfielder Kobe Mutch is set to make his return to football this weekend, named on the extended interchange in Essendon VFL’s round 12 match against Port Melbourne on Sunday.

Mutch trained with the VFL playing group this week, overcoming a high-grade hamstring injury sustained in the round three AFL win over Melbourne.

Liam McKenna, Liam Read and Jacob Brown join Mutch on the extended bench, as part of a 27-man squad.

Dynamic defenders Matt Dea, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher and Marty Gleeson form half of the back six, while Will Snelling, Jordan Houlahan and Noah Gown make up part of the forward line.

Vice-captain Heath Hocking has been named to start at ruck rover, while his counterpart Danny Younan and superior Aaron Heppell sit on the extended interchange.

NAB League’s Sandringham Dragons youngster Riley Bowman has been named 23rd player for a fourth consecutive week.

The VFL Dons currently sit one spot below their opposition Port Melbourne on the ladder in third place.

The final team will be announced before the first bounce at 2:10pm on Sunday, June 23 at Adcon Stadium.

Live match updates will be available via Essendon VFL’s Twitter account , while the game will be broadcast live on Channel 7.

Unfortunately the VFL team will be severely compromised on Sunday because of the next AFL game being on the Thursday night. We pulled three players out of the VLF last Saturday (Francis, Clark and Bagley) and only played Brown for a half, with only Brown playing last night. Who will they ‘rest’ this week especially after the bye meaning some players haven’t played for weeks. Must be extremely frustrating for DJ who is doing a fantastic job as coach of VFL side. Team are playing for him. Another factor in AFL approved ‘fixturing’!

Half a game for Zac Clarke as I would imagine we will need some insurance for a possible Bellchambers suspension.

Marty, Franger & Riddles are other possible half gamers

Why would we fark with a finals bound VFL side to prop up a bottom 4 AFL side.

The blokes can just play off the 5 day break. Won’t be any worse then some of the blokes performances last night.

We had a similar scenario last week. I’d argue this one is less severe as by Sunday we should have a better idea than last week on who might miss via injury or suspension.

First off, LOL. The EFC site team also lacks a ruckman. That’s some high-level quality control.

I’m going to assume Clarke is the un-named ruck, so the VFL-listed contingent will be Bowman (23rd) and four others.

Released to lower leagues: Brown, Landt, McKenna, Read

NOT released: Hocking, Berry, HepA, Lazzaro, Younan

ITS TIME

Not fair, I was hoping see VFL McKenna taking on the outer at Port.

Well this thread is the big one today. Not a lot of Bombers success this weekend. Looking forward to watching these lads turn it around.

Man it’s so cold, 6c when I left beautiful downtown Mt Waverley 20 mins ago.
7c currently here in Richmond.

But no wind, currently. That plus an uniform grey sky means perfect footy conditions (if the dew is gone).

It’s expected to pick up from the south later (so some advantage to right of screen).

I’ll take a stab in the dark here, and suggest that they do NOT sell BOVRIL at the ground.

@Tombob
Can I recommend 100% Merino Wool thermals.
Expensive though !
