Not much chance of us getting but we should be pursuing him. A bit of Litho blood and attitiude would help us heaps

He’s pretty meek. But he is an outstanding kick of the ball. So actually, maybe you are on to something.
I’d like to see Heppell play VFL next year actually. Play at HB and coach and mentor our young draftees and emerging VFL players. Assuming he’d like to keep playing after retiring from an AFL list. One year wouldn’t hurt. He said earlier in the year he’d like to play on so there’s a lot to gain from it.

Said the same thing a few weeks ago; unfortunately, Scott seems to think the VFL is beneath him.
I’d be trialing 2MP as a key back in the VFL, I’m not saying it’s a sure thing but it’s definitely worth a shot and he needs a change, if it works out it gives us a key back option if Reid doesn’t come good.

This could be said about 95% of players retiring after > 150 games. The problem is they (understandably) always have bigger fish to fry, generally getting on with their lives and starting their next career.
Why would you play VFL on ~ $40k (max) with the time commitment required unless you were hoping to, or already signed up as an assistant coach?
I guess Hateley will go back into the first midfield rotation in lieu of Setters & Hobbs, which is fine.
