VFL - Round 5 vs North @ Windy Hill, 12noon Saturday 5 May 2018

Zac Merret had massive hurt factor last year, constantly being used to nail the aggressive, diagonal pass into the corridor which basically set up our most dangerous forward thrusts. This year he has had far reduced hurt factor as he isn’t getting it on the outside as much.

Clark has no hurt factor. At all. Needs to find some to succeed.

I don’t necessarily put the onus on a guy like Clarke to have outside hurt factor although obviously it doesn’t hurt.

We really need to find at least one other high hurt factor mid to compliment Merrett so the that they need to choose who to shut down.

Heppell, Parish, Smith and to a lesser degree Zacha are not punishing enough with possessions.

McGrath, McKenna and Langford would add something in that regard but are miles off for various reasons.

Teams know to sit on Merrett and that makes our midfield very pedestrian.

Yeah we don’t need Clark to have outside hurt factor but he needs creative hands to be successful.

Agree with all that…

Yeah, he’s got good hands but not ‘Jobe’ good!

At this stage his ability to influence consistently around stoppages is just what we need.

This is one of the keys to our recent poor performance.
