- 5:55 breaking one tackle and deciding to run straight into another is… not HTB? ■■■■ off.
- 7:15 ■■■■ YOU, BALL. What a way to get knocked out of finals…
- 10:00 Why, Ryan, why? You’re sixty out, a dump to the face of goal is better than kicking back to the wing.
- 11:10 I know backing Bernardi is not a bad thing, but I would have liked MFord to have the shot at goal. 37 goal-less games since #2. I would have also liked that ball to DO THE RIGHT THING and bounce through for a freaking point. NO NICE THINGS FOR US!
- Gilcrist does have strapping around that right elbow in the second half. Molan also still has her left elbow even-more-heavily-strapped after her injury two weeks ago.
- 16:45 Robinson comes from nowhere to spoil the over-the-back shot at goal.
- 17:50 Molan is not going to like reviewing that kick-out. Extra time? No more! She’s made too many unforced errors this year.
QUARTER FOUR
- Can I take back my bit about the umps going troppo from 10 minutes into the final quarter? Because Chaston was driven into the ground at 4:10, the Hawks deliberately pulls the ball under El, and they are pinged.
- Bernardi’s goal comes from a near-identical flop onto the back as did Chaston did. Go figure.
- Prince is certainly a piece of work. Throws Orritt to the ground as the goal flies through. Double free and double goal would have been nice.
- 9:00 TOTAL REVERSAL OF THE WHOLE GAME. GET STUFFED, UMP.
- For an example of actual opportunity and the tackler not pulling the ball back in, go to Mifsud’s fine work at 9:50. Ump says no.
- Isla Baldwin cheats for frees, abuses umpires, and whacks people outta nowhere for no reason. Apart (because?) of that, she’s a good player.
- 12:35 SammyJ at least knows she did wrong: fails to collect the ball then clumsily attacks a Hawk high.
- 13:10 Big tackle Marnie, HTB paid. Pulled the full weight of Matin down onto her face, though!
- 15:30 We stuffed up a three-on-one, but Baldwin gets punished for pointless aggression when the ball is dead. Well done ump, finally.
- 18:30 Robinson caught in front of goal, another Hawk hothead has to strike out and give it away. Zielinski is a deadset moron.
- What should have been the biggest comeback since… last week… starts at 18:40. Chaston precisely hits up sFord from the back pocket, to the middle when Manfre hits the pack hard, Hawk is gang-tackled and clearly drops it, ump right there with a perfect view says no. But Davidge squirts the handball out of the pack, and Melnikas is running to fifty with no one between her and the goals, and… ■■■■ you, distant ump. I believe his call from fifty metres away was that tackling someone with the ball is illegal, and that this was his moment to shine.
- Just to rub it in, they then pay a 8m kick as the Hawks commence the wasting of the time.
