Harley, an ex-Richmond AFLW player (who never got a game at that level) had played every Port game between round 8 and the first final.

Average 12 disposals, has kicked 6 goals across those 8 games.

Port changes since the round 13 game

In: Laura Wright, Georgia Alomes, Lisa Davie
Out: Britney Mueck, Charley Ryan, Keely Byrne

Alomes is 177cm 20yo and kicked 2 goals last week from a game-leading 4 marks.

Ryan is a 19yo Richmond AFLW mid (but her cap all year has been 10 disposals).

If you’re wondering, only one player took more than 4 marks in last week’s two finals: Courtney had 6, and that’s why she is named on their CHF Alomes for a Knights/Vander classic battle :sunglasses:

…

Only one change from the Semi Final team with Emily Harley returning after being late out due to a back complaint, she will hope to return to her consistently dominant form.

“Having LD back gave us a great sense of calm. Allowing the younger backs to player freer and with more confidence,” said Backline Coach, Luke LoBello speaking of Lisa Davie’s return from a collarbone injury.

“We are ready for Essendon. Their form has been impressive, and we know they are hard at the contest, with experienced finals players in every line. We feel we turned the corner last week and know we truly belong in finals,” said LoBello.

Notr sure I’d agree with the “breaking down” and “filling in” descriptions, but something something narrative.

The teams are in for the rebel VFLW preliminary final, where Essendon and Port Melbourne will be fighting for a place in this year’s premiership decider.

Essendon’s hopes of keeping its title defence alive have received a boost with premiership defender Tamsin Crook overcoming a calf injury to regain her position in the team for the do-or-die final at ETU Stadium on Sunday.

Crook, 20, played every game of the home-and-away season but has missed both the Bombers’ finals after breaking down in Round 14 against Western Bulldogs.

The Moonee Valley product returns to the team in place of Madison Gray, who has been named in the emergencies after filling in for Crook in those two finals.

The Borough also regains an important player, with forward Emily Harley returning after being a late withdrawal from the team that beat Carlton by a point in the first semi-final last week.

The 21-year-old had played every game since returning from injury in Round 8 and comes back in for her late replacement last week in Molly Denahy-Maloney, who is again in the emergencies.

Froggy is brutal.

P.S. Not my most-flattering angle in the photo being used for the EFC article and socials.

Ha ha.
Serves you right for taking video of them running out.

Forecast is a few drops of rain in the morning but stopped well before game time. Bit of sun, moderate cross breeze.

We are on average 2 years younger than them, despite having the two oldest players. That includes 8 players junior to their youngest. Our middle bunch of players have played half as many games as their equivalents.

We constantly lay more tackles than our equivalents (the graph they provide is wrong in at least one aspect, as league-leader Dicker is entirely excluded!)

(Yes, their graphs include the emergencies – particularly significant as they named more of them than we did!)

Blitz was down while we lost the VFLW PF.

Kinda like a omen…

Rough day for all around it seems.

Guessing Kendra has decided to hang up the boots, what a stalwart to the club.

Brilliant effort this season.

We had a bang (Blitz), then a whimper (the game after quarter time).
