At the start of the stream: Ugle helping to pick up the cones.

The pressure to get that first goal, starting from CBomb’s shepherd, was EPIC.

Nalder’s early marking, ruck work, and that brick wall tackle; Frew’s kicking to advantage with both feet; Ashley-Cooper back in and dominating half-back

Our failure to convert from close-in :broken_heart:

<< updates my spreadsheet when Brendan Rhodes says Clifford is playing her 97th VFLW/VWFL game. We would need to lose next week to get her to 100 and Dicker to 25 this year. But let’s not do that. Shiny thing. >>

Then that gets followed up by calling Ugle “the inaugural captain” :man_facepalming: … Lisa Williams was captain in 2018, and then Ugle took over in 2019.

Clifford double-tackled and cops a knee in the bread-basket (?). Runs it off; tough bugger.

I was only barely exaggerating when I said we never allowed the Hawks consecutive non-pressured disposals. The full-team pressure is amazing!

Clifford in a LOT more contests than the stats would indicate. EDIT: but disappears as the game goes on.

I think there’s a @Hoffy underneath all this.

LOL :rage: at the ump paying the third tackle on Barba by Mifsud. Zero opportunity and legit endeavour to get it out, ya nuffie. Just ball it up a fourth time.

Very very easily CBomb and Doonan could have had 4 goals each. A ending score of 91-7 would have been ridiculously brutal.

Crook not getting pinged for holding the ball early in the last quarter  — the umps were pretty random on the tackle frees, but that was just a deadset shocker. Pretty much her only error for the day, though; Clarke went more or less perfect in this game as well, and might be a sneaky to get onto an AFLW list one year late.

Frew tapping the ball through her own legs 6 minutes into the last; always creative, always making opportunities for others.

Holmes and Barba are just competitive beasts.

Pointed out by commentary that we got just 2 goals from our top 5 goal kickers (all top 10 in the league).

20 points from zero disposals is pretty efficient.

IT WAS a record-breaking weekend in the rebel VFLW qualifying and elimination finals last weekend, with no fewer than 24 marks being smashed across the three matches played on the long weekend.

And it was Essendon and the Casey Demons who were responsible for most of them – in fact a scarcely believable 11 records were broken by each of the second semi-final qualifiers in their wins over Hawthorn and Collingwood respectively.

The Bombers squared their win-loss records overall, in the finals and against the Hawks while beating the brown and gold at Windy Hill for the first time by inflicting the visitors’ first defeat in finals football, with the domination of the victory being shown in the fact it was Essendon’s highest score and biggest win against Hawthorn.

It was also the lowest score the Hawks have kicked in their VFLW history (as well as of course against Essendon), their biggest VFLW loss and the highest score they have conceded in finals football.

The Demons banked their first finals victory after bowing out at the same stage on debut last year, knocking the Magpies over at Casey Fields for the first time in four attempts, squaring the visitors’ win-loss record in minor finals.

Casey kicked its highest score in finals football and conceded its lowest, its highest score and biggest win against Collingwood, while the Magpies had their lowest score against the Demons and in finals and its biggest loss and highest score conceded at the business end of the season.
