Murdoch a dashing intercept mark and rebound, but she’s kicking to 1 vs 3.
It comes straight back, goes to that smallest forward possible, and is another goal.

0.7.7 trails 7.0.42
Fede long shot into the point post.
It took 76.5 of the 80 minutes, but Port have now scored more often than we have.
7-48
Chaos, structure failing… Harley marks.
7-54
Russell gets every hitout, but they’re usually forward and down.
0.7.7 loses to 9.0.54
Five goals in that last quarter.
Loooong huddle.
There is a legit Wheely Bin kicking comp on the hill.
Expect a post-match Fede-AshleyCooper-Bella photo to pop up.
Why do they hate Lauren so much?!?
The Bears fans have arrived.
Both of them.
was this broadcast somewhere? wondered if the VFL will be, saw Jess Wuetschner posted this on insta:
EDIT - found it now
Has to be one of the funniest score lines ive seen. Almost direct opposite points/goals.
I never thought I’d like to see us score 3.9.27, the score that is the speciality of our new coach from the Hawks.
Normally, a scoreline like today’s indicates massively different efficiency approaching goal. In this case, certainly not 100% that, though we slacked off in the last quarter to give them numerous set shots.
I didn’t appreciate Mahony’s game, hidden inside, enough at the time. 22 disposals, including 9 clearances (next best by either team was 5) and a team-leading 8 tackles.
Adams faded a bit, but 18 disposals and 5 clearances by the December baby was impressive. The two had 7 frees for and 0 against between them!
6 inside fifties from 13 disposals from Cariss-Brett on the wing. Has speed, has composure, and can work through traffic despite clearly being told to stay outside.
Endless rotation of defender roles was curious, but until the last quarter Port’s forward work was not at all impressive. Add the talent and experience of Perkins + Bernadi + Marshall + Hunt, and we will be a very different team with a lot of flexibility.
Mind you, I wasn’t too unhappy with our midget forward line in the first half. We created good space, and Manfre in particular showed plenty of smarts. Ford as the biggest forward had a shocker, though, and that was part of us not being goals ahead of Port early.
The marking stats somewhat indicate our smaller size and handball focus: of those to take at least three marks, there were 12 Port players, and Manfre.
LilyRoseWill started well, and then disappeared. VanLoon was not impressive.
Kyla Tracey invisible.
Molan was one of our best, saving us many times. Was back all day, but ideally we can release her from there.
Russell and Chaston were busy, and Davidge went contrary to the rest of the team with 13 kicks and 0 handballs. That’s part of the reason she had our second-most inside fifties.
Melnikas and Frew bashing each other, and holding no long-term grudges, was fun.
In the end, it took a long time for their (guess) 4 year age advantage to take control. Port (and Norf) remain the obvious premiership candidates.
