Sounds kinda dreamy when you accidentally play the start at 33rpm.
Just on âCatch Me Im Fallingâ, last i checked there were zero versions of it available for Streaming in Spotify, Tidal & Qobuz.
Cant remember if its on Apple Music ?
Huh⌠never knew that! I got jibbed when I bought the 7" after seeing the video on Countdown, only to find it sounded nothing like the video. That one was jettisoned quicksmart to Dixons and replaced with the 12".
EON-FM and FOX used to exclusively play the 12" version back in the day.
Apropos of nothing really, the guy on the far left of your sleeve was a few years above me at high school.
I think it mightâve been the first ever song I taped off the radio when I learned I could do that.
Around the World in a Day is an amazing album.
And this is a very nice cut.
Very happy.
Bit of Sunday morning market shopping. Not cheap, in fact the vendor could quite easily send me broke but what the hellâŚnot sure if thereâs any ambient fans on Blitz but I saw a great little documentary on Eno a while ago and have been chasing it for a while.
Dio - Double dose of Donnington
War of the Worlds was already in my cart.
omgâŚit is on vinyl.
Have JWWotW. One of my all time favourite albums. Sit and listen to it in the dark, by yourself, it is an experience.
I have the original Seance by The Church. An underrated pleasure.
From what I can tell given the runout info, this is a first press copy. Havenât listened yet, but based on a quick play of a couple of the others I picked up, Iâm hoping it will sound great.
Isnât Seance the album that the band themselves dislike immensely? Seem to remember them not liking the mix, in particular the gated reverb on the drums (which made them sound like drum machinesâŚ)
Ironic really, since they used drum machines so much on Starfish and Gold Afternoon Fix due to Richard Ploogâs⌠umm⌠âunhealthy lifestyle choicesâ.
You might be right. You usually are! Itâs a time and place thing for me- you know, 20, living interstate and the background noise to a brief but intense âthingâ. Changes your perspective. Might have to revisit.
Oh, donât get me wrong⌠sometimes artists themselves are not the best judges of their own material.
It was always a dream of mine to write a book about it, and interview a stack of artists. Get them talking about their âbiggest hitâ (which often is not one of their own favourites), follow-up by getting them to talk about their own personal favourite of theirs, then finish by getting them to talk about my favourite by them.
Examples:
Dave Faulkner to talk about Whatâs My Scene
Mick Thomas to talk about Fatherâs Day
Iva Davies to talk about Great Southern Land
Mark Callaghan to talk about Sounds Of Then (This Is Australia)
Neil Finn to talk about Donât Dream Itâs Over or I Got You
etc.
etc.
That would be a podcast now, old man.
And a good one, too.
Yep, definitely a podcast theme. Iâd listen for sure.
