Was Once Welcomed To Essendon - Greg Williams

"Fairest, as defined by an umpire might effect their votes. Call it robbing if you like but there is no doubt imo that the perceived “fairness” of a player offsets the rating of how “good” the player is.
So if you call the umpirea a ■■■■■■■■ too often, you might not get 3 votes.

He would have been good for Clarke, Mynott and Mutch.
All three can get their hands on the ball, they just need to take the next step

9 weeks for telling the ump to get out of his face…Sooooo unfair, but Sooooo good because he played for fark Carlton.

Pretty sure he laid hands on the umpire, and not accidentally.

Wanga winning the 1993 Brownlow in front of Diesel, is one of the most delightful things that’s ever happened in football.

The AFL effectively apologised to him by giving him the medal the next year. Fark Carlton must have known it too - why else would they rest him in the last game especially when he was just beaten the year before?

He polled 30 votes, Albert.

He had a solid year.

Yes but why was he rested? Why would they take the chance he would miss again?

If there was any AFL manipulation, it was in the late charge from Matera to make that count remotely interesting.

Because Carlton has a qualifying final the following week, and that was more important than an individual award?
