For sure. When I get through my fast, I’ll increase carbs and fats.
My day so far:
Chia seed pot for breakfast (80g oats, 80g Chia seeds, Greek yogurt, coconut flakes, blue berries and walnut with a tsp of maple syrup)
Coffee
Lunch:
Chicken breast and salad
Morning tea: Apple and high protein yogurt
Afternoon Tea: Hard boiled egg and extra egg whites (boiled egg and just ate the whites).
Downside I am sitting at:
82g carbs
40g of fat
85.5 g of protein
Ditch the oats, coconut flakes and maple syrup in the morning. Maybe walnuts too. 200g of greek yoghurt (Aldi has a big pot of adorable yoghurt). Add protein powder. I don’t reckon yiu need morning tea if you increase breakfast protein.
What do you put in your salad and how big is the chicken?
Your protein is too low. It’s hard getting the protein.
13kgs in 7 weeks is pretty ambitious. Slow and steady is the way to go.
Agree.
Drop those carbs to under 50g, and increase the protein. You’ll drop the weight quicker and you won’t be hungry or feel like snacking.
I have 120g of chicken as per dieticians plan.
Her target for me was 85g of protein a day.
I hit target and then with dinner (egg omlette with steak, beanshoots, onion)..
Ended day with
85g carbs
62g fat
114.7g of protein
He actually wanted me to eat more nuts and walnuts are good for lowering bad cholesterol. Only downside is calories I guess at a whopping 190 calories a serve and 18g of fat (but good fats).
Do you like Kangaroo? It’s a hack for trimming down. Heaps of protein to make you feel full. Stuff all calories to make your pants fall down.
As others have said, your protein levels seem a little low. I imagine your dietician knows best but I’d be double checking with her.
Just reading up on fasting… jeepers. Dont think I can do 18:6
16-8 is very do-able
120 grams of “chicken”, was that the advice?
Is this person credentialed?
The research is pretty clear, protein should be between 115 and 150 grams a day based on your figures.
I struggle with the toughness of kangaroo meat.
But i often make Kangaroo stew. It softens up nicely when slow cooked.
7kg down in 5-ish weeks. Pretty rapt with that but I can’t lie, I have hit a bit of a wall after starting off like a man on fire. Huge cravings the last couple of days that I’ve managed to mostly avoid. Weight has plateaued a bit so far this week which I expected, but as a seriously impatient person is still frustrating. Posting to keep myself a bit honest I guess. Soldiering on. All the best to anyone else on here currently trying to shed a few like me.
It’s normal to hit a bit of a wall.
It’s how you reapply yourself that is the difference.
Have a break for a week but then back on to watching what you eat and don’t let all of the good work you’ve done so far go to waste.
I’ve been allowing myself to have a cheat day once a week.
For me, It keeps the cravings away.
Dietician. I have said numerous times i an getting between 85-115g of protein a day
I’m down 3kg in less than 2 weeks. Another 1.5kg will do me. This fast is extreme but I am not that hungry because I have to eat enough protein to power the east coast of Australia.
Thats great mate. I am trying to fast today for 16hrs and will eat my breakfast at about 10:50am
Made a chia pot with high protein yogurt, berries and Walnuts.
Lunch is a fruit salad and chicken salad.
Thank you. This is definitely a short term fast. I’d recommend speaking to a doctor about fasting.
They already said they want me to 12hr fast as I am on Mounjaro with the long term outlook to eventually adapt to a 14-16hr to try and support cutting down the Visceral fat around the gut.
People have commented they can see the weightloss in the face and my back
