I find their lack of faith disturbing...

The 52-year-old, who suffered from diabetes, got a leg infection sometime in March. But he refused to go to hospital, trusting God to cure him. Eventually the disease took over and he slipped into coma and died sometime around March 20, according to the agreed statement of facts read out in court.

I've got no issue with this at all

Woman selling a haunted sword!!!

IF YOU‘RE an avid sword collector, then today is your day: An elderly woman in Austin is selling a sword on Craigslist that she says is “from the 1700s” for the low price of $150. There is just one catch.

It might be haunted.

According to the ad, the woman acquired the sword from an antique store in 1984. When it was sold to her, the cashier advised her to “be careful because there is a 90+ per cent chance that is cursed.” She notes that, in her 100-sword collection, this is the only one that is haunted (so act fast!).

Not to be a downer but that sword sure ain't from the 1700's. Try a Conan movie. Could still be haunted though...

You say that as though it makes the sword less valuable or something.

If anything it makes it worth more than her asking price...

The Russian Orthodox Church has warned of dire consequences for Moscow if plans proceed for a skyscraper light installation modeled on the all-seeing evil eye at the centre of JRR Tolkien‘s fantasy novels.

A property company plans to raise what resembles a giant glowing eye on the 21st floor of a skyscraper this week to celebrate the release of the final part of Peter Jackson‘s movie adaptation of The Hobbit.

In The Hobbit and also in Tolkien‘s subsequent trilogy, Lord of the Rings, the Eye of Sauron is a giant flaming eye controlled by the “dark lord” Sauron, which allows him to watch anyone who puts on the fateful, power-giving ring at the novels‘ center.

The installation is planned as a 1 metre (3.3 foot) sphere on top of a 21 storey building, with a light show projected from behind to create a 3-D effect, said Polina Murova, a spokeswoman for the property company behind the stunt.

But for the Russian Orthodox Church, the evil eye is no fiction.

“This is a demonic symbol,” the Russian Orthodox Church‘s head of public affairs, Vsevolod Chaplin, told Govorit Moskva radio station.

“Such a symbol of the triumph of evil is rising up over the city, becoming practically the highest object in the city. Is that good or bad? I‘m afraid it‘s more likely bad. Just don‘t be surprised later if something goes wrong with the city.”

The eye is due to be switched on Thursday evening and to remain lit for seven hours, the property company that owns the tower, Hals Development, announced, saying it was designed by a group of designers called Svecheniye, or Radiance.

Murova insisted the project was “not a promotion” for the film and that the designers were simply fans who had approached the company with the idea.

Whether divine intervention was involved was unclear, but forecasts of heavy snowfall were threatening to scupper the project, Murova said.

Creed frontman Scott Stapp thinks he's a CIA agent ordered to kill Obama

By Eric Geller   on December 12, 2014

Scott Stapp, the former lead singer of the rock band Creed, has been through a lot of personal and professional turmoil, but it's hard to understand how he ended up here.

Stapp, who has been in and out of drug treatment programs and psychiatric wards over the years, recently told his family that he believed he was a CIA agent on a mission to kill President Barack Obama. He then fled his home, prompting his family to call 911, report his claims, and ask that he be recommitted to a hospital. The incident came less than a week after Florida police released Stapp from a 72-hour psychiatric hold.

TMZ acquired audio of Stapp's family's 911 call, in which a woman says, "He thinks he’s part of the CIA. He thinks they're trying to kill him, and he has a bunch of paperwork in his backpack that he’s a CIA agent and he supposed to assassinate Obama."

The White House has yet to comment on Stapp's claims.

not my fault… clearly Obamas fault.

If only he was on a mission to assasinate Chad Kroger.

If he gets the name wrong and takes out Michael Kroger, the world’s still a winner.

The Dalai Lama says he thinks his traditional religious role should cease with his death rather than a “stupid” successor replace him and disgrace himself.

Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader told the BBC in an interview on Wednesday the Tibetan people should decide whether to continue the spiritual line, which dated back to the 15th century.

“The Dalai Lama institution will cease one day,” he told the BBC.

"There is no guarantee that some stupid Dalai Lama won’t come next, who will disgrace himself or herself. That would be very sad.

“So, much better that a centuries-old tradition should cease at the time of a quite popular Dalai Lama.”

I guess arrogance isn’t confined to just us mere mortals.

Not just weird but VITAL.

It may not be much good against blaster bolts or inconveniently low doorframes, but stormtrooper armour can apparently stop a snake bite.

Australian Scott Loxley, who is walking around the country dressed as a stormtrooper to raise money for a Melbourne children’s hospital, accidentally tested the armour as he was marching out of Yalboroo in north Queensland on his way to Mackay on Wednesday.

At least he’ll be able to watch and remember the good times.

What hope do we have for any decent journalism when this is the standard.

Reported in the Murdoch owned Gold Coast Bulletin website

“The men are said to have begun their crime spree in Caboolture yesterday morning when they were pulled over by police in a stolen car.”

Doesn’t anyone read this stuff before it goes to press?

When Police are reduced to using stolen cars to apprehend criminals we have a problem :stuck_out_tongue:
