Welcome to Essendon - Ben McKay

lllloydy likes him but lllloydy would’ve also destroyed him on the lead.
he’s doing well but he need the reid next to him for us to go A grade down back

That’s because the game is different.

If Lloyd played now he’d just be big enough for 3rd tall fwd.

He has been far better than what I expected, I was not fussed on getting him and thought he was a potato. He has been exceptional 1-1. Saved us on numerous occasions. Probably should admit I was wrrr wrrr wrrrong.

McKay played in 8 wins at North Melbourne.

The crowds in those matches are listed below.

30,515 v WCE Optus 2021
22,666 v Rich Marvel 2022
15,416 v Bris Gabba 2017
9,121 v Haw Launceston 2021
6,719 v GC Bellerive 2021
4,378 v GC Bellerive 2023
522 v Adel Carrara 2020
No crowd v Carl Marvel 2021

So as you can see, only two wins in Victoria (one was with no crowd!).

I can only imagine how ecstatic he would be playing in front of actual crowds now.

Lloyd would kick bags in any era, his timing on the lead and his power in his legs to leap were very rare.

He actually played ruck rover for most of his U16’s and was never considered a forward until he arrived at Essendon and Sheeds named him in a pocket for his first game.

Yep, did well

Superb in a team that got belted. Basically his career in a nutshell.

I think we are seeing how good he is, but at the same time seeing how bad we are.

Loving him so far

Well done big ben

Merrett is Merrett, I just know he will do it every week. It must be bloody hard for him to look at any of them most weeks.

Harry played well that can’t be denied

I mean, his other choices were hawthorn and north.
