Welcome to Essendon - Luamon Lual

Arguably greater speed, taller and better defensively, but nowhere near as good a kick.

Thursday night LuLus is back.

Jobe had a terrible kick initially and while it was never his strength he could hold his own pretty well relatively early into his career because he had the work ethic and drive to improve This guy appears to be a kid determined to make the most of his shot at the big time and his Dad appears to be a role model for grit and hard work. His speed and appetite for the contest is a decent foundation to build from in the meantime.

You’d love to have the insight into how we rated Lual compared to the running half backs who went in the handful of picks before him. Like if we had all three of Hastie, Jiath and Lual on the board would Lual still have been ranked higher by our guys than the other two.

Can the club help his dad find a job that’s day shift?

Let’s hope he turns out better than the last NGA kid who we poached from another clubs NGA. Or the one we took from our own.

Is there a reason we passed on this guy?

Yeah Freo got the steal here this kid looks a jet with that left peg.

Still, I like Lual also

actually laughed at this.

We didn’t need another 200cm defender.

I get Quaynor vibes with his initial couple of steps and general agility.

Looking beyond the stereotypes….highlights seemed to show he is a defender first with defensive intent and closing speed .… I like that

He’s the true hero in all this, Migrated, lost his missus, raising a family on his own while working permanent nights, that’s a bloody tough gig.
