Chinese Premier appears in public with grey hair. . It’s the first time I’ve noticed a senior Chinese leader without jet black hair.
What should I read into this. Is he projecting a picture of an ageing Chinese population? Or is it the Adelaide water?

I did notice that he was very sartorial in his dressing, far more so than his Australian counterparts. A rip off of top Italian or French designer labels. Gone are the days of the Mao suits. The messaging to the West - whatever you can do, we can do better.
( But also an acknowledgement that China needs to adapt to western style in physical presentation to further its influence - soft power , it needs to go beyond its economic bully boy economic tactics in the international battle for hearts and minds).

The next step for China is on gender. It must be tough for every Chinese high level vistitor around the globe to be confronted with a woman seated across from him at the table , particularly when they aren’t visual props of movie star attractive.
How long is it going to take for China to have a Foreign Minister like Penny Wong ( and grey hair at that, plus not heterosexual ). A big cultural leap
