What annoys you? Extra time

Like is for feeling your pain. I’ve been in that very position, including mentoring the new hire for 6 months in the position I applied for.

You must leave. The only way to get proper recognition of skills and remuneration for skills is to become the new hire.

It sucks, but it is what it is.

Oh I know this for sure. I’m done. You don’t come back from things like this.

You don’t, it’s not even about money or titles, it’s about the complete disrespect for your efforts and abilities.

Also the money and titles. You can be gaslit on to thinking these are selfish things to consider, but they are not.

I work in an an industry that has an incredibly high burnout rate, and the number one reason by far for departures is not money or hours or anything like that, it’s recognition.

It sucks that if you were to submit your resume under a different name for that job they would fall over themselves to interview you, but because of where you sit you won’t get a look in.

Employers aren’t bright.

That is disgraceful how they are treating you.

It is not logical, but it is a fact: there are more arseholes in the world than there are people.

I hope you get a better outcome and better position elsewhere.

Or, as I had to, you wait… and outlive both your boss and the idiot they hired (that I had to train up, in the knowledge that I was being sidelined in the hope of forcing me out, just as she did with other members of the team she inherited when she started).

That period was great… I was benched entirely. Fine, you don’t want me involved then I won’t be involved. On company time I painted a couple of rooms in the house, catalogued my music collection in Discogs and knocked over a few other longstanding chores, while they drowned in the work (that I should’ve by rights been doing) and made a complete clusterfark of things.

Of course, it helped that she and every person she recruited in place of the team she had in the first place, were numpties and completely farking useless. It was just a matter of time before questions started being asked and they bailed…

Oh yes. I was told not to assume this person was getting more money than me. Yeah ok mate.

Another good one was when he said I should feel privileged that I am so highly rated that they have put me on the most important project in the organisation. But then I was also told I need to raise my brand and profile. I really wanted to say at that point how about we send out a poll and ask people who they know of, me or him. I’m sure he’d be shocked at the results. Hahaha.

This should be a poll.

The only thing they got right is about your brand. For your next interview elsewhere.

What industry are you in?

Banking.

The brand part is good too. Legit 5 mins after this call another colleague randomly sent me a screenshot where this new brand ambassador flyer has been circulated and my photo is right in the middle of it :joy::joy:

Im not invested in this place enough to ride it out. They can suck eggs. Hahaha.

But good on you for doing nothing until the silly ones left. Love that.

My last boss pushed for me to apply for her job before she went on mat leave.

Public service job. Did everything by the book with COI and interview panels and all that.

She didn’t want to come back to a mess as happened after having her first child and knew I’d kill it in the role.

That’s the type of recognition you deserve from your manager if you are good.

10000%. I’ve had very good experiences in the past so I certainly can spot the difference between right and wrong.

Kill them in their sleep. Simples.

Not many realise the syllables in ‘dissect’ are ‘dis’ (apart) and ‘sect’ (cut) not ‘di’ and ‘ssect’.

You don’t go the di-stance to look at a di-splay or di-spose of unwanted things. And you don’t di-ssect things. You dis-sect them.

I think people get confused by bisect, which actually is pronounced bi-sect…

Now it’s contri-bute instead of con-tribute.

The media frothing over Baily Smith last night was the most annoyed ive been for a long long time, and thats saying something. He changed clubs, who cares, has long hair and a moustache, who cares, i could go on, and on and on but for those that missed it, i dare you to sit tbrough the replay including pre game. Absolute circus
