Oh very much this.

Mrs dingus is a highly intelligent individual with dyslexia and some other (probably related) thing going on which results in tripping over / mispronouncing words.

We recently ordered food and a snivelling hipster shitstain have her the condescending "do you mean (insert food item, I can’t remember), followed by a scoff.

I pointed out that if he was able to determine what she meant then he should shut the fark up and not be suck a condescending shitstain.

So, yes. Very much this.

Edit: except apostrophe misuse. Jail. No trials.

I remember in the early days of blitz, anyone who used internet shorthand was run out of town on a rail.
Which I still approve of.

If it’s only verbal, then midday (or noon) and midnight are enough.

No problems with 12.00.01am or 11.59.59pm, but 12pm is ambiguous in written form.

The issue is that people have differing views on what this requires. And sometimes even if the meaning is clear, errors in spelling or pronunciation are just plain annoying. I’ll always be triggered when someone pronounces two syllables after the ‘v’ in ‘mischievous’, even if I know exactly what they mean.

mis-CHEE-vee-uhs

Getting people to speak correctly is like pulling hens teeth.

What pacifically are you talking about there Wim?

Ohhhhh, that reminds me. ‘There in lies the problem’ is like fingernails down a ducks back for me.

Edit: And there inlies the problem! Drives me nuts.

Kinky

Yeah, the emphasis annoys me but it’s more the non-existent ‘vee’.

I also know exactly what people mean when they say ‘Eck-settra’ and ‘intragal’. But FMD…

On the other hand, I do not care what the difference between further and farther is.
If I want to go further out, then you should just shoosh and respect that.
