You mean a crwahsong? We.
“started”?
give me any 10 year period of human history where any names weren’t changed
Talking about recently when we seem to have adopted the way it is pronounced in the given countries language, but only for some countries?
And a hhharmon in Barcelona. That’s Germany where the j is pronounced like a y.
Assuming the person in Barcelona is speaking Castilian Spanish, not Catalan.
No Pilipinas according to their uniform in tonight’s basketball wc qualifier against Aus
Well, no. It was the Ottoman Empire for 6 centuries, “Turkey” from the 1920s to a few years ago. It’s a classic #rebrand , the same great Turkey taste with a very slightly different name.
As They Might Be Giants sang: “that’s nobody’s business but the Turks”.
Cold weather is very annoying. Minus farking 3C in my backyard this morning. Let the dogs out and there was some ruckus down the back so I had to go out and investigate. It was so cold.
I hate this place, hope it is warmer in hell.
I had this in Aus Slop but nah, this one genuinly sh1ts me and my rage for this song and style of singing knows no limits.
Up there Cazaly. There I said it. Absolute garbage song, garbage “true blue” voice too. Makes me cringe.
People who sing cliche Australiana crap
“There’s a dingo in the backyard and a koala up a gumtree, and I’m sitting in me Holden with a a didgeridoo” sung with an awful aussie twang. They can get absolutely stuffed.
Up there Cazaly is corny, lame, dull and needs to be taken round back and shot, multiple times, burnt to a crisp, and then buried deep deep in the ground and have the hole filled in with concrete.
In its defence it was written way back in a time when the Australian accent was genuinely broader across the classes and not the performative bullshit voice people put on today to sound genuine and authentic. For me as a kid it was a mighty footy anthem and I still get a small thrill on GF day.
but wholeheartedly agree with you on the rest of the schlock
Fair rant. Given the song’s age and that I hear it almost never, I take it as relic.
Yep I hate it, play it every year at the GF and makes me sick
Im not defending Up There Cazaly but the general bar of any football song is extremely low as far as being a banger is concerned.
It is a bangerless genre and to seek one is a futile endevour.
Banger. Ugh
The best part about Up There Cazaly is that we only hear it on One Day In September.
That’s the thing about football.
The AMT song was a CHUUUUUUUNE. You might even call it a
I did buy the Stodgewood cassingle when I was 15… but taste and decision making weren’t my strengths at the time…
What do you think of the Indigenous version of “I Am Australian” ?
Never heard it. Does Mike Brady sing it? Unlikely. But if so, then it can ■■■■ off.
Here is one version
Aussie versions of Xmas carols are the worst.
