Seems like we have a thread on what’s wrong with just about everything at the moment so was interested in where people think the number one problem is.
You could pretty much vote for all of them. The culture is rotten, it’s systemic thanks to the deep-seated acceptance of mediocrity, near enough is good enough, and just being a 12-win team and getting embarrassed first week of finals is considered a success.
For mine it’s the leadership in all areas of the club. It all filters down from that.
Essendon Football Club has become an entity that just want to be “liked and respected” by everyone.
The entire club needs to focus more on winning games than in being liked.
The ironic thing is, the more the club has focused on being liked by the greater public and AFL- the more it’s become seperated by it’s own supporter base
Id say its almost all of the above but iv voted board because ultimately they make the decisions and oversee everything. If they were making more right decisions then wrong id assume wed be in a better position then we are now.
We don’t have a brand. What do we stand for? Maybe we need to change the logo and distance ourselves from anything and anyone involved in the drug saga.
