Where are we at round 24?

Holding on to 8th spot after a shaky last month. Many of our key players will be carrying niggling injuries, but we need them out there to compete.

Stringer will be limping around, Draper will be getting work done on his hip on the boundary every 10 mins and Reid and Ridley will be cautiously returning from soft tissue injuries.

After losing to Brisbane, we will have made the 8 by 2 points, and look ahead to playing Port over there in round 1 of the finals.

How about 6th, coming up against Freo,Port or a limping Brisbane at the MCG in front of 95k predominantly rabid success starved Essendon fans ?

If you agree, please respond with Kramer gif.

We’ve played one MCG final in 20 years.

And it’s still too soon to talk about it.

Edit: Actually, 2. And it’s till too soon to talk about either of them.

Watching us lose a final at the MCG because Daniher kicked 6 might finally cause the club to be literally burned down.

Be lucky to get 6 kicks.

Hipwood somehow kicks 6 goals straight on Lav.

Both Reid and Ridley listed as ā€˜test’ following their long lay-offs from hamstring and quad awareness respectively.

He kicked 5.4 against the roos. Who’s a worse team, regular season north melbourne, or finals Essendon?

Corr and Pink wasn’t it ?
May as well plonk a couple of traffic cones on the field instead.

I think we’re definitely at least a solid team now and in the mix for finals which is pleasing.

When it comes to separating teams from 5th through to say 10th, availability is often the biggest factor. I think if we’re to really ā€œoverachieveā€ (i.e. host a home final) then we need to have above the odds luck on the injury front relative to all the other teams. Which would obviously be abnormal for us.

Get Ridley back and in form to add to the current mix as well as maybe something that takes us by surprise such as an upgrade later in the season to an Alwyn Davey by way of either a fitter Tex Wanganeen or a Mid season draft pick small forward and minimal injuries to the whole squad and it gives us a shot to finish a season strongly for once.

Okay. You’re right. I concede. He’d be lucky to get 6 kicks. He’s averaging 13 kicks this year, averaged 12 in last year’s finals series (in which he kicked 10 goals), but against Essendon, the mighty 12th ranked defense in the league, Essendon who only three days ago blanketed superstar 17 game spearhead Jack Williams of the formidable west coast eagles to just 9 kicks and 3.1, Essendon who have conceded an average of 112 points in their last 5 finals, against that defensive juggernaut, Daniher would be lucky to get 6 kicks.

Who hurt you?!

I think this is kind of the key to me. And the main reason we don’t beat up on poor teams. We need to grind out our wins through heavy contested work. I can see this taking its toll as the season wears on.

I’d love to see us develop a better outside game. Really hurt teams on turnover. Main issue is we really don’t have the cattle. Another Nic Martin would be amazing. We should get McCluggage.

yep we need a livewire small forward who can kick goals.

I think you are taking my posts way too literally in this thread.

Having said that, there are many other forwards I fear more than Joe Daniher.

Players will be promising to do better…from Ibiza.

We’ll be subjected to a FC v Pies qualifying final.

Cats play another final series.

We discover players have been poorly managed and many require off season operations and delayed starts to the preseason.

The best of all. The club annouces extending our lease at Marvel and killing all hope of returning to the MCG for home games in our life time.
