Who Should We Draft?

Mutual friend of the Daniel McKenzie family says the Dons are keen on him..really hope we pick him up, but I think it will depend on who is available at 17, if we can grab Weller or Garlett then we won't need another outside mid (based on Dodoro saying we won't get two the same) but if those two are gone then I think we will grab McKenzie and none of you will be disappointed, true gun.

Kudos for your constant banging of the D-MAC drum the last few weeks. If in fact we do draft him, you'd have to be made chief of the bandwagon.

What I’m mostly getting from the various phantoms is that nobody has any damn idea who we’ll be taking. Far as I can recall, we’ve been phantomed as taking ahern, wright, garlett, lamb, laverde, miller, ellis, and weller, and vaguely linked to marchbank, lever, Goddard, menadue, cockatoo and probably more.

Nobody knows a damn thing, basically.

would be happy with any two of that list.

Well they say that if you ask enough people to guess how many jelly beans there are in a jar and take the average guess it will give you the exact number of jelly beans there are in the jar.

I'm not sure if the same principle applies to AFL phantom drafts but I thought I would apply a similar principle by aggregating the guesses of 6 phantom drafts I know of.

I think it's notable at this point how uncertain it becomes from North Melbourne through tour last pick

I was thinking that I really rate Emma Quayle and Cal Twomey and I would imagine that the rest are to a degree formulated by group think. So if we gave those 2 experts a weighted frequency of 2 this would alter the frequencies in the following way

 WEIGHTED FREQUENCY

1 ST KILDA: PADDY McCARTIN 7

 2&3 ANGUS BRAYSHAW & CHRISTIAN PETRACCA 7

There is a bit of uncertainty about who GWS will take apart from Ahern (i.e. Goddard or Marchbank). Hard also to say who Carlton will pick up. We look destined in the eyes of the experts to pick Garlett up either at our first or second. But the next pick is to varied to see a consensus.

Sorry my tables didn't quite come out right.

So the consensus seems to be

STK Paddy McCartin

Melb Angus Brayshaw

Melb Christian Petracca

GWS Jarrod Pickett

COLL Jordan de Goey

GWS Paul Ahern

GWS Caleb Marchbank/Hugh Goddard

GC Peter Wright

GEE Sam Durdin

WCE Liam Duggan

RIC Corey Ellis

FRE Jake Lever

ADE Kyle Langford

GC Nakia Cockatoo

NM Lachie Weller

ESS Jarrod Garlett

CAR Lachie Weller??

ESS Jarrod Garlett??

STK Alex Neal Bullen

I like the idea of getting jarrod garlett twice!

St Kilda confirmed will be taking McCartin as number one pick Herald Sun is saying

Would be a mistake in my opinion. Good for us however as it will make some others slip via knock on effect.
When you are in St.Kilda's position and are starting from scratch with a complete rebuild, you take the best available player (Pertracca) in my opinion.
However I can understand the thought behind it as KPP are a lot harder to find and develop than midfielders but I would have thought if that was their thinking they would have been better off trading the number one pick to say a team with the 5-10 pick plus another player they wanted from their team and selected Wright. (Much like Melbourne in 2013 when they downgraded their pick and received Dom Tyson from GWS plus another first rounder).

Blitz. I said this pages back, and was called an idiot hahaha

I dont see that it benefits us much at all if the top three are shuffled but remain the top three. It might change things a tiny bit in that a couple of clubs with picks either side of the saints second-rounders might ponder what the saints would hope for at #21 and #22 but i suspect it'll be negligible.

Yeah could be good. It seems though that things get a little crazy around NM and the experts have no real consensus with the picks from there through to our last pick. Except 1 of the Garletts will be picked up at 17 or 20

I like the idea of getting jarrod garlett twice!

WILSON: BOMBER PLAYERS VICTIMS OF CLONING TRIAL

What I'm mostly getting from the various phantoms is that nobody has any damn idea who we'll be taking. Far as I can recall, we've been phantomed as taking ahern, wright, garlett, lamb, laverde, miller, ellis, and weller, and vaguely linked to marchbank, lever, Goddard, menadue, cockatoo and probably more.
Nobody knows a damn thing, basically.

MASS EXODUS!!!! Essendon pick up 13 players with 2 picks!

That's an Ixodus.

Carlton are fkn retards, they will just draft midfielders forever and then try to plug KPP holes with duds like liam jones

i expect that to change when SOS gets there

I'd forgotten about that.
Wow.
And some of us were complaining about Giles and Cooney.

Surely one of these days we’ll get a bloke with the surname Garlett.

Then it will be plugging their midfield with talls.
