Who Should We NOT Pick Up?

Rod Butters

Why exactly wouldnā€™t you pick Him up?

I would have thought he was perfect: rarely gets tackled (they constantly tried to get hold of him but he would just get out of the way), scored goals with ease and never missed, high quality leadership, great tactical game day player, very agile, strong communicator, after getting knocked out, got back up and got on with the game, comes quite cheap (30 pieces), and, finally, we all know he is a superstar.

Got crucified by the umpires.

Would fit right in.

Yeah, maybe in his early days. As time has gone on though he has become a divisive figure.

He may be a strong communicator, but with hindsight he wasnā€™t a particularly clear communicator as seen by the issues his followers have/had at stoppages. Looked like they would splinter off into factions and become aggressive, defensive etc.

His team did also always look to him and wait for him to act before acting themselves, not great for finals footy. The one guy that did act on his own was shunned and ended up hanging himself.

He gave the plans to the opposition for a bigger pay-packet. We called him Talia.

Iā€™d look forward to him turning over the tables in AFL house.

On Draft Day Dodoro is more likely to go for the bloke with greater upsideā€¦ ā€œBarabasā€.
