Who Wants To Be A CEO?

There is nothing wrong with hiring Essendon people if they have had no involvement at club level before

I have no issue with the Board targeting appropriate individuals that will strengthen our Board, not fussed about their allegiance so long as while they are on the Board they support Essendon. My problem is that she brought a nutter into the fold who should have been destroyed after the Royal Commisson and his responses.

Essendon… clap clap clap…

How very inclusive of you.

I’m the first to admit I have zero tolerance of people who believe in sky fairies

Haven’t got access but standard AFL playbook?

Amazingly standard AFL response.

In brief, we commissioned a report into ethics from an independent leadership consultancy. It came out with some recommendations.

The leadership consultancy CEO is … drum roll … Matt Finnis.

The recommendations:

Changing the Game: Rethinking Sport’s Inclusion Dilemma (Recommendations)

  1. Reject the inclusion dilemma that says inclusive communities are built by solving or avoiding moral disagreement

  2. Normalising discomfort

  3. Building connection around the dilemma

  4. Prioritising the process

  5. Win early, win often, win together

  6. Reflect and recommit

I’m sure the report is more than a list of motherhood statements, but I don’t think I’d get any value from reading it.

bahaha

sounds like they want a road map to shoe horn old mate thorburn onto the commission instead

All he had to do was step away from his leadership position at a church with conflicting values to the club. no one told him to stop going to church.

i really don’t want this one re-opened though

Can someone explain why this Thornburn bloke is still sniffing around the AFL, is the commission keen to have a royal commission into its own ethics or something?

Are these CEOs are untouchable?

I thought the Royal Commission report (NAB) would have made him an unacceptable choice.

…but what would I know?

So essentially, if hiring a bible thumping pro lifer makes you feel uncomfortable, normalise your discomfort with it and forget about solving the moral disagreement?

Sounds like a fantastic idea.
