Agree. All I want is for us to be successful again, and I hope whoever gets appointed, even if not my preference, are a success in the role. It doesn’t serve us any purpose hoping someone sucks just because we might not like them or our favourite options didn’t get appointed. I really hope the club is on the road to getting it’s act together…
You know what… I’d like to see what Brad Scott can do with an Essendon budget as opposed to a Norf budget. I reckon he’s a lot better placed for success at Essendon than he was at Norf. I wouldn’t mind him as coach at all.
My recollection was that he quit because the club wanted to get rid of all the old and established group and rebuild via the draft, and he wasn’t on board with that as a strategy. Maybe that was just speculation - I can’t recall. The clear out would have taken place at the end of the year, after he had quit and Shaw had been coaching for the last 10 or so weeks of the season.
I don’t care if we’re rubbish next year. Just want too see administrative unity, a plan that includes winning grand finals and players getting better, both skills wise, and being a team wise.
With all the reporting (with nothing confirming or denying Scott’s interest) there is no longer a next Essendon coach market on any of the betting sites.
Scott actually wanted the rebuild, the board disagreed, and then later on (after Scott was gone) they turfed all their experienced players. Real North Melbington areas.
