Who will our next coach be? A GREAT SCOTT!

I think nobody has any Fucken idea. And if I was ESS I wouldn’t announce it this week. Let the guessing continue. Announce the CEO first.

Nothing like free media through rampant speculation. About something positive this time.

Also give time to see if Yze has any skeletons.

Hinkley was never a chance. His niece is my sister in law. He won’t even come back to Vic to see his dad who is crook. Has openly stated to family he is happy in SA and even if he gets the boot from port he will stay there as his kids are settled and in last few years of school

good, don’t rate him as a coach

Me either. He is a very arrogant man.

That’s a really good read. Hindsight has proven him correct in terms of North’s struggles. Clearly had the courage of his convictions to outline where North was at to the board, which they didn’t like, and they cut him adrift at the first opportunity.

I want a coach that has a relationship with his players like Chris Scott. And I would have said that before Saturday.

Also, didn’t Brad Scott do that with Makkah Daw, and Noble with North this year. Not saying it’s effective any more. And we also complained when X retracted a text.

Essendon fans are a tolerant lot. So prepared to embrace anyone not named James Hird

Agreed, by all reports he keeps his distance from them, yet they respect him and he respects them.

Channel 7 Sport, RE: Essendon Coach … just now

  • “Scott has held meaningful dialogue with Essendon over the last month regarding the coaching position”
  • “Scott is now the favourite to coach”
  • “Andrew Welsh is a massive fan of Scott which could be influential in any decision”

Video to follow.

People assuming Scott is a late comer to this list of applicants. He hasn’t.

I’d be pretty happy with Brad Scott

The sensible thing to do when we have such a great candidate in Scott.

We need to move past Hird for senior coach rogjt now. Maybe one day in the future, but some clear air is needed.

Very relieved to hear Scott has been talking to us for a month. That means he has been interested from the outset and not a “break glass” option like ■■■■ said. It also means the club is adhering to the process. Now just announce him. I’m over the suspense.

I think it’s fair to say nobody knows what’s going on at present and I’m ok with that. As for the process, IDK what is going on behind closed doors and what Brad Scott will be required to do if he opts in. I HOPE he has to present like everyone else, perhaps not at the entry level, but certainly the secondary level. What worries me is our history for hand picking candidates, remember there was a “process” when we hired Hird which Terry Wallace walked away from and Choco Williams presented at and left knowing full well Hird would be appointed. Hopefully we’ve learned from that and we select the RIGHT candidate and back him the fk in.
