I hate that cnt so much I find it hard to agree with him even when I do.
I may have to change my whole viewpoint on worsfold.

Fremantle moves it slow from def 50 so that gave us confidence.
Credit to the group though we were better in both setting up defence quickly and our forwards held them up and put pressure on. That pretty much is the key to winning the modern game. We’re still slower and lack the pressure of the top teams.
Ok just so we are all agreed.
We are playing ■■■■.
We made finals nonetheless.
We have match winners in our team that on their day can challenge anyone.
We’re gonna win the lot.
Did I leave anything out?
We’re gonna get obliterated whoever we play.
Fixed.
truth.
off to the beer thread we go…
Careful, next thing you will be told is we don’t need better midfielders, just ask HAP.
I thought Ambrose did a very job of knocking Fyfe from pillar to post. Keep up the good work Paddy.

The whole of blitz agrees with you. That is, the purple headed custard chucker.
Why keep quoting it then.
Hard to win contested possession and clearances when you are literally playing your 5th ruckman, so you have to find other ways to win. We’ve been having a go about not having any tactical nous and even wanting Lyon to coach us instead, yet the coaches outcoached Lyon and his guys and we are still complaining.
Contested possession will only get you so far, you still need to be able to deliver the ball and carry the ball as well.
Richmond used Grigg in the ruck for portions of the game and it was considered genius.
Is anyone on this site ever happy that we won. After the previous 2 weeks Saturday nights win was a terrific result. This was without a ruckman. Fantasia on 1 leg. No Hooker. A first gamer. A super courageous captain who picked up his team and carried them with him. ( same captain that gets called the worst captain in the league on this website by so called supporters). Playing 1 player short from half way through the 1st qtr.
That was a huge effort on the weekend. Team qualified for SEP with a week spare for the 1st time in forever.
Enjoy the win, FFS.
YES, IT WAS A GREAT WIN.
I’d like to know how much of the contested ball deficit was due to
and what was the stat for the post clearance contest?
ie how often did we apply sufficient pressure at the clearance to win the next ball?
OTC quote some stat like this & I think cats & tigers do quite well.
Great win.
Feels like we’re the lowest contested possession side in the 8. Anyone got stats to confirm?
The problem with this thread is that posters keep blaming or crediting Worsfold. If we say Worsfold was brilliant last night, then this licences all the knockers to get on here after a loss, and blame Worsfold.
When an underling does a brilliant piece of work, and the boss says ok we’ll go with that, the brilliance still lies with the underlying. The boss gets some credit for not killing off the idea, but the brilliance lies elsewhere.
The point is we never ever know where the brilliant ideas come from and we know with 100% certainty that Worsfold encourages and delegates to all of the coaches in the team to take responsibility for their portfolios. It’s just laziness when media or posters just talk about the head coach.
So, in bringing together all the team to respond to 2 bad weeks, well done Worsfold. That’s his job, and he deserves credit for that. But the idea that every success or fail within the club is connected back to the head coach is a quaint idea that stopped being relevant 30 years ago.
Thats it in a nutshell.
People react to other posters over exaggerations rather than what a player or coach actually does.
Then it escalates based on that.
But most of the time people confuse that with hating or disliking a player or coach.
It can actually be funny watching from the outside but argh well its never gonna change.

The Dogs, Richmond and West Coast all lower. GWS 0.1 of a CP higher. We’re 10th for CP’s across the comp.
Richmond, Collingwood and the Dogs all ranked lower for clearances.

I’m ecstatic that we won and I’m glad we are making finals. I hope we win the premiership.
Sadly, I’m also worried that we’ve gone backwards this year. If I compare our last 11 weeks of 2017 to 2018 I would say that we were playing better, more consistent football last year. We seemed to be building a game style that would hold up in finals and it felt like we could be genuinely optimistic this year, especially given we added shiel.
Fast forward twelve months and we are copping 10 and 20 goal floggings at the business end of the season. We are limping into September with a percentage of 95 ish.
I want this club to win finals, to be a fixture that other clubs sweat about, to pulverize the weaker teams and go head to head with the best and prevail.
I’m not happy with mediocrity
Wash your damn hands Smack!
